1.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20 trapez (1295) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - JUN 5, 2008
Bottle 0.375 l. Bought Kvickly Hilleroed. Strange, a bit yeasty, not very pleasant aroma. Pale yellow colour with small white head. Taste surprisingly better than expected from the aroma. Malt and hops, rather sweet. Rich carbonation which is the best thing about this beer.

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 Bottle @ home A truly unpleasant experience is found in VB, an unfortunately popular brew in Australia. This cheap swill has an awful artificial metallic taste, a dreadful aroma to match and when poured has a truly bland and unpleasant look; the head is almost nonexistent and adds to the unpleasantness of the ’beer’. Even if this is the only beer available to you, avoid it with fierce determination - it simply isn’t worth it.

Bottle @ home. Clear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light hoppy, grass. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (220408)

When you grow up in Victoria, you are brainwashed from an early age. You are led to believe that Australian makes the best beer in the world and that this is the grand daddy of them all. Unfortunately, many people go through life living this lie. The same people think that Crown Lager is some sort of premium beer and that Cornona and Carlsberg are top shelf imports. Anyhow, this beer has virtually nothing going for it and unless ice cold is untouchable. I’ve read that CUB can produce a batch in 48 hours. I actually believe this as have six beers and the next morning you’ll have a shocking head ache (for the American readers, on par with what you’ll get from PBR). Avoid.

Pours a nice light golden yellow. Aromas of hops, grass, and maybe corn. Taste is crisp with a nice mellow hop flavor.

It doesn’t taste great... it doesn’t even taste good. However, its embedded in Australian culture and probably the beer I’ve drunk most of in my life. Needs to be drunk cold after a hard days work on a hot day to be fully appreciated. Iconic stuff.

I kinda like this one, its not much on flavor body or substance but its refreshing and too heavy after a long day of work.

Hard to say anything remotely good about this beer. Tastes of chemicals, has to be chilled to sub zero to mask any flavour, way too fizzy and leaves a horrible after taste. Best suited for cleaning stains off’ve floors in my opinion.
