COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Just a very bland drink - overly watery, with a rather unnatural bitterness.

The aroma is more like an English Ale than a lager. Its very malt and yeasty. The appearance is amber. The flavor is like the aroma. It’s also bitter. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s pretty good.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2008 ...hahaha, V to the B, for a "working thirst" hahaha. Well, basically this is the typical bitter in AUS, and it’s not good, but drinkable. Have had many american beers that this is way above. I Have to say that it could be worse, and bitter does not mean "hoppy". It’s basically an icon in Australia, so it deserves some recognituion.

UPDATED: APR 19, 2008 Wow! This is wonderful! Very sweet aroma of honey and molasses. Light amber in color, slightly cloudy. Nice thick head that laces the glass. Flavor is barley, molasses, hints of fruit. Wonderful! Smooth on the palate. Drank it warm... oh yeah, and this bottle is 3 years old. That might explain something to you low-raters. :)

Since coming to Melbourne, I’ve been slowly going through the list of local delights but this is a terrible drink. I guess its a local taste. Metallic aftertaste and artificial taste.

Bottle. Pale amber with slight loose white head. Faint aroma, maybe malt with a hint of something vegetable. Light body with medium carbonation. Very bland flavour vaguely malty but with an unpleasant metallic bitterness in the finish. Overall, I can drink VB, but it has a subtle offputting artificial / chemical taste.

Bottle (and can). How could one make it through Vic without VB? Lawnmower beer Australia style.
