COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2006 Nothing special, but when you’re over in Australia for a month, you get used to this quick. I liked it better than most mainstream Oz beers. Basically it’s Heineken. Most redeeming thing is the bottle proper. They’re made of hard tempered glass that doesn’t break easy. Comes in handy when a bunch of drunken outback types find out you’re an American. Just kidding. I had a good time out there. We went to one club that was open 24 hours! Then, after leaving at 7am, went through a drive-thru for a case of more bottles to take back to the hotel. The USA could learn a lot from a solid example like that.

From bottle. Weak aroma. Clear light appearance. Very watery bitter. Slight taste of wheat. Does’nt leave any pleasant taste in my mouth. Bog standard bitter that is served very cold. Goes down well on a hot day with some BBQ grub. Glad it was a stubby.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2006 A crying shame tooheys new is rated slightly better. VB is a staple, far superior to its tooheys equivalent. Am currently studying in switzerland for a year and literally was doing cartwheels when we found a 6-pack of this for ANZAC day.

I tried this in a can. A very powerful aroma and flavour, with low carbination. I would rate this lower except for the fact it has a very unique flavouring that I had trouble grasping.

I love this beer, but can only find it in the common wealth countries. If anyone knows how I can get ahold of it in the US, please let me know.
