COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Was slightly dissapointed by this. Where's the bitterness? Saving grace is its palate, which is much more evident than most lagers.

Bottled. Amber, poor head and low condition. Aromas of nut and solvent, slight peardrop flavours and a thin dry finish.

Why it is named bitter I will never know. Just a slightly fuller bodied better than average mainstream lager.

Typical mass produced beer. Too chemical and hangover inducing. One for the plebs.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2003 This beer is shit. Brewed with approx 30% malt and the rest is sugar and rice. Fermented without hops - they are later added as extract to the fermented wort. Substandard stuff. In fact Fosters, MB, Carlton Draught and Crown Lager are all brewed the same way. I only drink VB if it's the only tap in the bar which is on.

I’ve been having this a lot in the past few weeks for some unknown reason, i’ve always hated it, ever since my first bottle when i was 15 or so, smells like vomit, doesn’t taste much better, but at least it has some flavour, even if it isn’t good flavour. Lots of chemically flavours in there.

My friend came back from a semester abroad in australia, she brought some of this w/ her. Said this is a cheap beer there. It went down real nice and smooth, i could probably drink a bunch real fast.
