Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Much more bitter than I thought it'd be. Not like an English Bitter which generally seem to have little to no hops. This was much worse than Amstel Bier.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2003 I remember when this beer was released on tap in NSW. I had to find a pub with it so I could sink a draught Veeb. How times change. If the pub doesn't have it I am pleased that something better could be available in its place. I do drink it occasionally as it is often the only alternative to a disgusting light beer at parties or other events. Doesn't mean I would buy it though. This is a typical Aussie mass produced brew. No hop aroma, little body and too gassy.

Definitely the staple diet of many a true blue drinker in Australia. Make sure you get real McCoy version as the English brewed version is caled Victria Beer (not to confuse the word bitter). Must be served extra cold.

A beer for tough Australian guys. OK, leave them drinking it, so why to export it?

Golden colour, not much head. Corn aroma. Watery and unclean. No hops. Could be mistaken for a third-world-beer.

i don't think i have ever bought a VB unless it was in a 1 horse town that sell nothing else. I have no idea why this has become such an icon its crap, just crap. When extremely cold can be tollerated, yes aftertaste is horrid a slice of pizza is need or something.

Pours urine-yellow with almost non existant head. Heavily carbonated. Smells like off hops and chemicals. Tastes like water with a hint of sweetness. Bad astringent hop bitterness aftertaste. Poor.

Typical golden color just a bit darker than other Aussie Lagers. Looks flat in the glass, little bubble action no head. Smells like a sawmill, wood and pine scents, some malty tones. Very mild hop bittering, not what I expected. Not much flavor to comment on. This beer is like a pair of plain white socks, yes they're socks that's all. This is Lager, that's all. Better than Hahn's or Carlton's, but that ain't saying much.
