COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Bottle. My mate Baldy swears ’ALL Australians drink this’. Hmm. Not the ones who know good beer anyway. It’s golden like piss. It smells a bit skunky and malty like my piss. It tastes a bit too dry, weak and thin bodied. Didn’t care for this. I don’t know much about Aussie beer but I bet they don’t like this being a well known export.

Australia’s BMC, lets see how it stacks up... pours a nice dark gold, very clear, a decent watery white ring forms, not bad... weak aroma but its very sweet, brown sugar, banana wet grains, too sweet but easy going... taste doesn’t fit the nose at all, watery bitter skunk juice, very chemical taste and finish, borderline bad... pass

Bottle 375ml at Victoria Pub. Pours clear straw yellow with white diminishing head. Aroma is grainy malts, a tiny note of sweet banana. Taste is light sweet, light bitter, medium lasting bitterness. Light body, watery, average carbonation. 20110310

Bought at my local Tesco, one of the 6 pack had disappeared so it was reduced in price. Deepish gold in colour, the white head is soapy looking, big bubbled and doesn’t last long. Malty to begin with but that quickly fades and is replaced by a sugary sweetness that is a bit cloying. I don’t think any hops are used in its production, if there are, I cant pick them up on the palate. That said, I’ve had a LOT worse than this, but would I buy again? NAH!

gramity (520) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 25, 2011
***Old rating*** Pours a crystal clear golden, pretty dark for an adjunct lager, fluffy white head forms and quickly settles down to a very thin ring, no lacing, looks pretty standard. Smell is pretty average, vague fruitiness, corn, lots of adjunct sweetness, a bit of garbage bag, not a whole lot going on, lightly grassy and floral, not good. Taste is worse, apple juice, corn and adjuncts, lightly sweet, a touch of floral, watery, no finish, not good. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation, just weak and watery and what little flavour there is isn’t very pleasant.

Canette de 500ml. Bière dorée avec une mousse blanche, elle semble durable. Nez commerciale sans attrait. La bouche est rafraichissante et mordante, la finale est courte et sans intérêt. Produit commercial pour grand public.
