Andrew196 (1089), Anaheim Hills, California, USA Mar 20, 2005 Chaz brought this back from Taiwan of all places. This is a pretty poor represntation of a "bitter" if thats what it indeed is. I gather that this is the aussie version of budweiser or something.....not as skunky, a bit more of a malt backbone, but pretty unimpressive.....blech!
Pinball (432), Allerød, Denmark Aug 31, 2008 bottle.
aroma : mostly sunburned beer. faint too.
clear yellow, nice thick 1cm head.
flavor:water with sugar, maize-water, no bitterness, aftertaste is slightly better. weak and sweet, yet not as mineral-water’esque as some of the other bad macros. totally harmless. probably great session beer, might be an acquired taste. martinboer (1333), Amsterdam, Netherlands Aug 29, 2008 Bottle at Coco’s Outback, Amsterdam. Golden body. Slight nose of hops. Some sweet flavours, malt in the taste. Creamy. Okay. jxo (9), Melbourne, Australia does not count Aug 25, 2008 375ml Bottle. Clear. theisti (1045), Leawood, Kansas, USA Aug 8, 2008 341 ml can purchased at "The Strath" Ale, Wine and Spirit Merchants at the Strathcona Hotel in Victoria, BC. I was in a hurry, I thought it was local, and I thought it was a Bitter. I’m an idiot. Pour is straight Pale Lager, yellow with a white head. Aroma of some chemical fruitiness, and malt. Taste is more of the same, the chemical sweetness being fairly pronounced initially. As this beer warmed, surprisingly, it became much smoother and more palatable. Old_Mr_Crow (1016), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 8, 2008 Bottle atop Canberra’s black mountain radio tower.
After a hike from the University up to the top of black mountain, I was in the mood for a beer and this was the best that they seemed to have to offer up in the cafe atop the needle. (Not that I could complain - I was very happy to discover that indeed they had beer at all.) Yeahm this was a pretty bland pale lager, maybe a bit more crisp than some US alternatives....but a bland fizzy pale lager.
