Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 3, 2002 A golden beer with an OK yet fast disappearing head. The aroma is slightly hoppy. The taste is refreshing, a little more bitter than the average lager and with hints of honey which makes it just a bit better than the average lager. It’s not nearly as good now, as it was, 6 years ago, when I first tasted it in Sydney - maybe the setting and all the beers drunk since has an influence here? omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 10, 2005 Draught at Irish Murphy, Ballarat.
Yellowish golden, brief head. Dusty orangey hop aroma. Some coarse vegetably maltiness, low bitterness. I still do prefer the Australian version of cheap crappy lagers to most other cheap crappy lagers. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 14, 2005 Updated: Jun 16, 2005(Bottle 37,5 cl) Golden colour, limited head and extremely high carbonation. A touch of malt but mainly this flavour of chicken-fodder that you find so often in beers with corn or rice. Very subdued bitterness. A beer that makes you burb - and nothing else. A truly Australian classic, only God knows why. Comes in the classical oz stubby-bottle. 110205 Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 3, 2001 I don’t know what they do up in Saskatchewan, but I’ll have to take Spenis’ word on that particular comparison. Personally, I just thought it was a median Aussie lager - better than Foster’s or Swan, but notably worse than Boag’s. yespr (6373), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 17, 2007 37.5 cL bottle. Pours golden yellow to orange with a white head. Aroma is hay, corn and slight metallic. Metallic, corn and bitter flavour. Dry bitterness in the finish. Bland bitter.
