COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Victoria Bitter has been Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The alcohol percentage went down from 4.8% to 4.6% in 2009.

Pretty avaerage lager, slightly dry, a little malt and pretty forgetable, nevertheless I have a crate of these to get through

(bottle) clear deep golden colour with a frothy white head. aroma of heavy bread dough and marzipan, with a hint of raisins, some sugar icing and raspberry syrup. flavour is mostly the same, lots of marzipan and cardboard, with more bread dough, yeast and some green apple. light- to medium-bodied with average carbonation.

jjsint (1803) - Stuntney, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2015
Bottle from JSG Wine Merchants, Hills Road, Cambridge. Mid- to dark gold with a ring of white head. Not much aroma to speak of, a bit of corn syrup I guess. And it tastes sweet, like corn syrup flavoured fizzy water. My God this is cheap crap. But it isn’t offensive or dirty or disgusting, hence the not-too-terrible rate.

Malty aroma with toasty notes of nuts. Pale clear liquid, not much head. Light-medium sweetness, medium high bitterness for the style. Average lively carbonation.

Denne Victoria Bitter har et klart og lidt gyldent udseende med et svagt hvidt skum. Øllen har en nøddeagtig aroma og smag med meget bitterhed. Medium karbonering.

When rating a mass produced beer, it would seem trivial to attempt to judge it against a beer more carefully thought out with care towards production. I thought VB was worth rating as a beer that is typically on offer at a reasonable price, something to accompany you to gatherings and can be offered to others without care for cost. For what this beer is I believe it to be of high value for taste. A decent appearance and medium to light body. However, It really is what to be expected of a mass produced beer... Not to bad for what it really is.

dose und Flasche noch mit 4,9%. Goldene Farbe, flacher Schaum. Wenig herb. Ganz sicher kein "Bitter".

Schooner on tap from local pub (but only because Coopers keg ran out). Ahhhh back to where it all began. Taste - like metallic a$$. No hop presence or any redeeming features whatsoever. Avoid it like the plague.
