COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Reminiscent of a recipe favored by Bill and Ron in their early days as homebrewers, our balanced and drinkable 1337 Ale will take you on a walk down Memory Lane. Featuring a pleasant aroma of mild caramel malts and earthy hop qualities, our take on a very classic recipe is just what you might expect from our home- to brewmasters now more than 18 years later.

Bottle: pours dark orangish with a thin white head, aroma is slightly hoppy, some caramel, taste is very malty, a little too much for my liking from an IPA, some hops/bitterness in the finish.

Atlanta, Ga. - Hop City - 22 oz bomber. Hazy medium copper pour, soft, silky white head, nice lacing. Aroma has some earthy accents, a bit of wort-like maltiness, slight hint of allspice spiciness. Full bodied flavor with some caramel maltiness, just a hint of light citrus bitterness, some yeasty background notes. Mouthfeel has a nice full thickness to it. Interesting take on an IPA.

Im getting tea with honey in the aroma mostly with a touch of hops, interesting anyway..cloudy dark amber appearance, creamy dissipating off white head...I get a mostly malty lagerlike flavor with piney hops for balance and background almost like a more hoppy irish red, much like yuengling lager too..palate a bit slick with a bitter finish..overall..it’s not highly rated and it was bargain priced (4.50 for 22 oz) so I was expecting the worst but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised will definitely get again a well balanced and easy drinking IPA

New Beer Distributors, NYC 650ml: Pours copper with a white head. Aroma is caramel, earthy hops, and some light sugariness. Taste is slightly bitter. There is a bit of sweetness. To me, this comes off like an old IPA. I don’t think it is, seeing as this seems to be everyone’s reaction to it. Not to say that there ain’t no freshness. Not bad, but kind of meh.

Pours amber with a white head. Biscuity malt aroma with some notes of caramel and pine. Flavor starts off caramel malt with biscuity maltiness and finishes with a piney spicy hop bitterness. Decent bitterness at the end.

Bottle from State Line. Honey amber pour with some head and good lacing. Caramel on the nose. Toasted caramel malts with a lot of biscuity flavors. Some earthy hops, but this was pretty syrupy sweet. I would have thought this was an ESB if I were guessing.

An old school brew. Lots of earthy malts in the aroma, a hint of caramel. The taste is very well balanced and very easy going down. Nice and dry. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear copper pour with thin pale khaki head. Earthy citrusy hops with a good touch of caramel malt for some balance. Very drinkable. Kinda like an old pale ale. Not bad.
