DocLock (3938), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 24, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. Medium coppery dark strawish pour with off-white head. The nose has a lot of funky yeast notes, plus spicy floral hops, citrus, peach, and some berry notes. Tastes malty, funky, spicy, with mid-palate hopcitrus and floral spicy notes, and a medium palate. This one tastes pretty Belgian, and is a great example of this style. This one surprised me. JoeMcPhee (3454), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 10, 2007 Tap at Barcade. Pale aber beern with a slightly sweet, bready/crackery malt aroma. Soft earthiness and light spice with a touch of banana and apricot character. Soft, minerally character. Light earthy/woody hop flavour with a a fair yeasty spice component and some peach and banana fruitiness. Light sulphury character on the back that is fairly interesting in this style. Good beer and surprisingly refreshing for something that is 6.5% ABV. Earthy and spicy with a soft bitterness. Nice beer. Braudog (3453), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Nov 12, 2007 Draft at the brewery, in a tulip glass. Bronze and still with a barely laced head. Light metallic nose. Smooth drink, caramel malt with a light hop flourish. Barely in the background is a hint of the Belgian-y spice, but it’s quite subtle. Training wheels dubbel. (#3193, 11/10/2007) Eyedrinkale (3013), Beer Town, New York, USA Aug 1, 2007 Draft @ The Belgian Room. Nice looking when poured but poor head retention in a tulip glass. Aroma is fresh peach and apricot sprinkled with some farmhouse flavors. Taste is a bit off and a bit metallic. Dry and slightly sour orange, this misses the mark. egajdzis (2801), Terrapin, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 15, 2007 Hazy reddish brown color with a medium sized, light an head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of orange peel, passion fruit, toffee malts, citrus fruits, bread, dark fruits, and yeast as well. Taste of more citrus, raisins, light caramel, toffee, with nuts as well.
