3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a dark amber with a small head. Aroma of sweet malts. Flavor is very malty, including some roasted malts. Pretty decent beer, not too much going on here, but it serves its purpose well.

Had awhile back at PJs [copper lager] - didnt realize it was a victory. Poured a dark copper body with small head. The aroma was light, but sweet. The taste is smooth with some malt in the finish.

Draft @ PJ Whelihanís <Copper Lager>: Poured a dark orange color with a thin head. The aroma was sweet. The flavor was smooth, absolutely no hops. It was sweet and easy to drink. Overall, better than Yuengling.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I had this as PJ Whelihanís Copper Lager. Theyíre not kidding when they say all malt; this is an easy drinker (and competitively priced at $4 / 22 oz) for customers who donít usually drink craft beer. The sweetness complements the various wing varieties served at the restaurant, and true to its name, its copper body looks great. This is one beer that drinkers of all tastes can agree on.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This brew is only available at P.J. Whelihanís Restaurants and affiliates. I had this at Platzís in Lehighton, PA. Its pretty much classic dark lager. Itís aroma is typical lager. Itís appearance is very gorgeous dark amber. Itís flavor is distinct with tones akin to Yuengling Lager. Itís silky smooth. Overall this is a great chaser with wings and cheesesteak.

Feb. 2006 on tap at Victory - Not all that dark, actually. As a plain lager, this is better than the regular Victory Lager, but as advertised, dark lager, it just doesnít deliver. Crystal clear slightly darker than normal lager brown, weak aroma and flavor. Some nice sweetness to it, but again, just not enough. Mouthfeel was maybe a tad overcarbonated, but still smooth (if that makes sense) and very drinkable. Again, maybe a good crossover beer for the macro drinkers out there, but when I think dark lager, I think a lot more richness and stuff going on than this beer has.

Draught at Falling Rock. Beer is clear, medium warm brown with a large, beige, frothy/creamy, lasting but mostly diminishing head. Lacy.<P>Malts have a pastry-like pleasantness. The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, moderate note of sweet biscuit, light note of caramel; Hoppy with a light note of resin/ine, herb; Yeasty with a light note of basement; Moderate vanilla, trace of white pepper.<P>The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with an average-length, lightly acidic, lightly bitter, lightly sweet finish.<P>The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
