Aroma is maple syrup, roasted malt, vanilla, sweet malt, milk chocolate. Flavor is much of the same with stronger roasted notes, dark chocolate, some molasses, maybe hints of dark ripe fruit. Generally medium to full body with a malty finish. daknole (2805), Plantation, Florida, USA Dec 15, 2008 Bomber. And a very good one at that! Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is chocolate, toasted malt, dark dried fruit and some nuts. Flavor is full of chocolate, roasted malts, some coffee and has a great mouthfeel. I will seek this out again for sure. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 14, 2008 Bottle from the Sam-apostrophe-s in Downers Grove, IL. Nice looking pour, a clear dark mahogany body with ruby highlighting and a tall, creamy tan head. Curiously, no lace. The aroma was milk chocolate, roasted malt, anise, and a few dark raisins. Smooth. It tasted as expected fromthe flavor except that the anise was stronger, it seemed a bit more roasted, and a trace of alcohol could be detected. Quite nice. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Dec 14, 2008 pours a black with a red tint when held up to the light, thin tan head, good lacing.
smell is of cocoa, oats, hay, and some roasted nuts.
taste is of chocolate, coffee, some nuts, touch of licorice, and malt in the back, ends a little bitter and somewhat dry. carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 13, 2008 Victory Baltic Thunder, on tap at uber

Roasty malt, chocolate aromas. A fair of carbonation in the mouth. Very nice standard porter flavors. Malt, peat, chocolate and a small amount of coffee. I would not say this is outstanding as a baltic, but a really good flavored standard porter with some extra alcohol. Should be heavier bodied. A bit of a dangerous drinkability for the abv. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Dec 11, 2008 22oz bottle - Pours a deep black color with ruby red highlights, crystal clear, with tiny almost non-existant light tan head that quickly dissipates. Aroma has subtle roastyness, hint of cherries, vanilla bean, lightly toasted oak. Flavor is malty, fairly roasty, faint caramel, with a bit of roasty bitterness and a finish thats balanced just on the bitter side. Overall a fairly decent brew, a bit underwhelming for what I expect from Victory, but still good. fakepurseninja (773), Washington, USA Dec 10, 2008 Very nice looking, strong porter. Deep black with a solid tan head. Roasty malt body with a molasses sweet profile. Bitter burnt coffee bean note sand a tart dark chocolate component. A little thin and overly earthy but a decent pour.
