Aug 6, 2008 A pleasing pour: Rich black-brown, red tinted. But the frothy head fades fast and after it subsides looks like a cola. Rich toffee, malt, sea, and vanilla. Not roasty, but does have a solid malt character. More sweetness, plus coffee and chocolate in the body. Low carbonation. Soft, silky and slightly oily.

Aug 1, 2008 22 ounce bottle split in pint glass. Dark brown with lasting flat tan head. Chocolate and grassy aroma. Chocolate and dark fruit with sweet finish. Medium body and medium-low carbo. Not especially complex or interesting. I am not a fan of the style and it seems closer to a doppelbock than a porter to me.

Aug 1, 2008 Pour is very deep brown with no head. Very little carbonation. Chocolate, caramel, vanilla, and a bit of dark fruit (plum, maybe). My first baltic porter, but I really like it.

Jul 31, 2008 [1252-20080404] 1pt6floz bottle. Dry-roasted fruit malt aroma with burnt dry coffee grounds. Clear, dark ruby black body with a medium-lasting creamy tan head. Sweet super roasted malt flavour with noticeable alcohol. Full body is bitter, smooth and dry. Nice but could be have a little more ooomph and be less dry.

Jul 30, 2008 Had on tap at Mr.Goodbar a while back. dark brown color with nice tan head, Nose is roasted malt, some choc and dried fruit. Flavor is similar to the nose, choc dried fruit well hidden alcohol nicely done some mineral flavors which isn’t really a bad thing.

Jul 30, 2008 The pour reveals a clear brown color with ruby highlights and a thin brown head. Nice aroma of fruits, chocolate and malt. Very good flavor of fruits, chocolate and roasted malt. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. Nicely done.

Jul 22, 2008 Light brown head forms over the not quite black, but very dark body. Strong espresso aroma, along with some fruitiness and a discernible sweetness. Taste is sweet and malty. Tons of espresso and chocolate. Caramel is in there too. Body was thinner than many other big beers, like the previous reviewer noted, but the taste was certainly not and it coated your mouth with a delicious syrupy aftertaste.

Jul 19, 2008 22 oz bottle, pours dark brown with a small tan head. Array of aromas, roasted malts, molasses, dark fruits and a hint of alcohol. Nice well balanced flavor of the high malt content and the sweet dark fruit flavor. The alcohol is well hidden, but the body is a little thin for such a big beer.
