radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA Mar 24, 2008 Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is a sweet chocolate and malt one, with a flavor that complements the aroma quite well. Touch of roastiness to it, and a smooth texture to it. Overall I really was impressed with this one. Vas19 (293), Maryland, USA Mar 23, 2008 Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma is roasted coffee with a hint of chocolate. The initial sweetness is balanced by a chocolate toffee finish. Very smooth too. Really good porter. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Mar 22, 2008 Pours very dark brown with a medium tan head that dissipates quickly. Interesting sweet dark malt aroma with some smokey coffee scents. Very nice full, creamy body with a great malty, smokey sweetness at first . A sharper hopped port flavor lingers on the end with some roastiness. Very good balance of flavors. Handles the high ABV well. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Mar 22, 2008 Bomber bottles sampled twice, once by myself and once at Redlight thanks to Beerlando:
Nearly opaque with a nice creamy head which left a clinging lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, vanilla, tobacco, fig, plum, toast, molasses, and walnut vapours. The taste starts with a rich malty and ripe fruit character along with some liquorice and molasses twang. Slight hop spice and smoky notes upon the finish. The mouth feel is oily and lush with sharp edges, moderately dry finish. A pretty nice beer and very enjoyable but no Perkuno Hammer, RIP Heavyweight. Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA Mar 22, 2008 From Bomber - Dark, with a medium weight tan head which dissipates quickly. LIttle or no lacing on the glass after it’s gone. The aromas are subdued, the taste carries a lot of soy and bitter chocolate. I would have expected this to be thicker from the looks of it but it is medium in weight.
a solid brew. luv2brew (177), Chesterfield, Virginia, USA Mar 21, 2008 Deep and dark in color with a chocolate head that slowly fades. This has a mild smoke taste but the chocolate really comes to the front on this one. It has a thick malty sweetness that also stands out. Victory just keeps putting out solid beers and this is no exception
mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Mar 21, 2008 bottle: pours almost completely black just a small amount of light coming through. a good cream tan head sits atop. aroma is a good roast and a sweet chocolate some coffee. flavour is a sticky milk chocolate, very small amount of roasted malt. the chocolate flavour is a bit wierd tasting and the palate is milk like. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2008 On tap at the Bocktown in the Robinson shopping complex, Pittsburgh. Head fades to a tea froth. Darker rootbeer color. Some cool roasty aroma but mostly just clean. Darler bitter charcoal flavors that continue over to the lasting lingering finish.
