yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark May 29, 2009 From bottle, blind #19. Pours dark brown with a small orange glare and a fully gone head. Cornish and roasted malt aroma. Bitter, roasted and caramelish flavoured with a light acidic roasted touch. Light liqourice touch. Ends medium bitter and with a lingering roasted malt to light breadish flavour. soccer290 (135), Highland Park, Illinois, USA May 19, 2009 22 oz bottle. My first baltic porter, so I am quite interested, after hearing good things. Pours a deep dark black with a tiny head that died immediately. Smells of chocolate, yeast, coffee, and some light fruit. Tastes of chocolate, light coffee, and a smooth vanilla following. Very smooth going down, but unimpressive body, as it was quite light. Interesting foray into baltic porters, but I’ve heard there are many better, though it made me intrigued to try Duck-Rabbit Porter (if I could find it). shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA May 17, 2009 pours black . notes of chocolate, licorace, cocoa. medium body. i liked this porter. glennmastrange (809), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 16, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt note of cereal, light hop and yeast aromas of perfume and dough, and a hint of grape, alcohol and rum soaked fruitcake. Head is small, frothy, off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet and acidic. Palate is medium, creamy almost syrupy, and has a soft carbonation. Not so complex, but a very pleasant Baltic Porter to drink at a fireside. Prometheus (97), Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA May 8, 2009 Bottle - Grapes and Hops Fayetteville
Aroma - Chocolate and something I can’t place
Appearance - Beautiful dark brown with a little bit of lacing
Flavor - Strange flavor. Carmal and something mineral.
Palate - Weird Palate
All around a weird beer, but I like it. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA May 5, 2009 22oz - Aroma is hoppy, chocolate, black licorice, prune and plum. Pours black with a small brown head and good lacing. Flavor matches with a Euro water aftertaste, which I guess is the Baltic part. Palate is sticky. Complex, nice and tasty. tgncc (796), Bellmore, New York, USA May 5, 2009 Roasted malts on the nose, some vegetables, chocolate, coffee, bread. Very attractive appearance, a dark, reddish brown, some light poking through when held to a lamp, tan head. The flavor is nicerthan the aroma, a mix of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, slight alcohol. The finish was sweet, but a moderate piney hop bittering came through at the very end. The mouthfeel is very thich and creamy. Very enjoyable overall. I don’t see enough of this style. Carl99Fan (186), Suwanee, Georgia, USA May 3, 2009 Another great beer from Victory. Dark mahagony pour, with caramel, coffee, and chocolate flavor.
