What an awesome porter! Basically black in color, opaque, started off with a very modest dark brown head but it quickly amounted to nothing more than just a little rim around the edge of the glass, very little lacing left on the glass either, but that’s where the shortcomings end, everything else about this beer is outstanding, the nose is full of licorice, toffee, caramel, dark chocolate & espresso, the body was near perfect, it wasn’t too heavy & it certainly wasn’t too light, the texture was smooth & sensual, had almost a velvet feeling, the flavors were intense & delicious, up front I tasted more toffee, a littl e hint of licorice, dark roasted coffee & chocolate, the back of the flavors had subtle hints of caramel, more toffee and a just a touch of alcohol, this 22 oz bomber was gone in less than ten minutes, this is truely a satisfying & delicious beer, most likely the best porter I’ve ever tasted

Oct 5, 2008 Bomber. Dark brown body, light beige head. Sweet malt, coffee, caramel, and chocolate aroma. Could actually taste the black eyed peas in this but not in a bad way. Malt was obviously predominant, along with cereal, chocolate, coffee, caramel, slightly fruity. Actually finished rather sweet and not too dry despite the abv. Really good.

Oct 5, 2008 Dark brown pour with amber highlights and a creamy tan head. Roasty malt, coffee, chocolate and dark fruit in the aroma and flavor. A little thin on the palate, but very tasty and highly drinkable. A touch of hops on the otherwise slightly sweet finish. Very good!

Oct 4, 2008 Smells of coffee, aniseed, and sweets. Pours black with a thin mocha head. Rich roasted flavor with notes of dried fruits. It is quite delicious.

Oct 1, 2008 22oz bomber: This one pours an opaque dark brown. there was a decent tan head on it, but it dropped away rather quickly. It leaves no lacing. Really rich aroma. Chocolate and maple are predominate. The taste is quite complex. Hints of chocolate, roastiness, coffee, some dark fruits. There are some hops in there that balance out the sweetness nicely. This is a really good brew.

Oct 1, 2008 bottle. maple syrup pour with thin head. rich chocolate, coffee, toffee, sugar in aroma. bitter coffee, light sourness, hint of figs. dark chocolate last into finish. pretty solid.
