4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 MrChopin (2060) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 6, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 3, 2011 No notes on this one, but I’ve drank it a bunch of times. Amazing stuff, my memory has clung to moments of wonder, whether the rich, dusty, hay-like grain that leads to a grassy and faintly barky bitterness or the lightly fizzy, uplifting citrus.
This is the best lager I’ve ever had. When fresh, It’s mindblowing how flavorful the grain is, makes Tipopils seem like a light beer.

Crisp, smooth pilsner. Usually alters between different hops, tettnang, spalt, hallertauer, and saaz. Right now they’re making it with a French hop called Strissle and spalt select.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2010 Draft. Pours a golden body with a thin white head. Floral aroma and hoppy with a more dry earth like body. Hints of pear and citrus finish is bitter and sweet. I get some lagered notes of mild sweetness in the finish that complements the bitterness and overlaying vibrant fruit tones. This really is a masterpiece.

Absolutely delicious. Draught. Poured golden yellow with medium white head. Spring aroma, new grass and the fields. Malty flavour, full body and lekker hop notes. Well balanced. Endless beer finish. Would make a wonderful session beer.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2010 Enjoyed this one at Waterworks Restaurant in Philadelphia - only a few good beers but nice choices in those. Great place which I would recommend for Dinner as well. Beer reminds me of Prima Pils but more complex.
My wife thought the appearance was only fair, but I thought it had a very crisp and clear character with a unique hue. Was excited to see this one on tap!
I had it a second time at The Note in West Chester after my son and his band from Rockdale Music performed there. The beer was intensely hoppy but balanced with a sweet honey character. It had a beautiful lingering finish. I have upgraded my rating above based on my second experience with it - I am looking forward to trying it again. At The Note, I felt it might have been one of the best beers I have ever had!
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 ryan (2959) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - APR 27, 2010
I have notes on this beer a few different times in my backlog. Every time I’ve had this beer, it’s fantastic. In fact, I’d go so far as to say, it’s the best Pilsner that is regularly made in the US. Richly floral hops, snappy cracker malts, light honey, some fresh herbs and a touch of citrus. A bit of dusty yeast, but relatively clean. Just an all around amazing beer.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 piscator34 (1579) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 25, 2010
On draft at the Happy Gnome. Pale gold with a hint of haze and fairly strong carbonation. Great Continental noble hop aromas of herbs, cut grass, and lemon, along with a touch of crispy pilsner malt. Superbly hoppy flavours with more herbs, lemon tall grasses. Creamy pilsner malt notes shine through mid-sip, before things return to dank herbal hops on the finish. Solid bitterness with a light refreshing body. A truly exceptional pilsner.
