flavor: With a mildly herbal nose to start, this German-hopped saison is a richly rounded experience of well-integrated flavors as soft malt notes are sparked by earthy hops that convey a subtle vegetal vibe not unlike parsnips or celery root in impression.
Composition: all German two row pilsner, Vienna and aroma malts and German Tettnanger Tettnang and Spalter Spalt whole flower hops

One of the CBC beers on tap at the brewery. Pour is transparent amber with creamy white head. Malt based nose, sweet and sugary. Honey yeast, and a nice zesty spice with an herbal hop back and touch of soap. The taste is light yeast, honey, a little sugary, a fair bit of zesty spice, notes of corrander, lemon, herbal tangy hops and a touch of bitterness. medium creamy body with light carbonation and fairly dry.

In short: A clean, semi-rustic, moderately-dry and fruity Saison. Refreshing session beer. Nice
How: Tap at Capones PA, first RBSG 2011 bus-trip pit-stop
The look: Clear blonde body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is a bit rustic with some fruity pineapples notes as well as some flowers. Taste is refreshing fruits (tropical fruits), dried flowers, some dried fruits. Not quite as dry as I would have liked it to be but the beer still has some Saison rusticity and it was very clean and highly drinkable. I’m not surprised to see this basic session Saison underrated, this is undeniable statistics, American ratebeerians don’t enjoy basic dry session Saison. It is also undeniable statistics that 9 out of 10 people reading this rating is literate. The 10th one is gay (and also literate).

Pours a shade darker than yellow with a small white head. Toasted malt, spicy yeast aroma. Lacks that dirty/earthy flavor that I enjoy in a good saison.
