COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each year at the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC), Victory proudly showcases a variety of beers brewed exclusively for the German Hop Growers’ Association to demonstrate the diversity of German hop varieties. In 2014, the focus is on four new hop varieties released in 2012, Mandarina Bavaria, Hallertau Blanc, Hueli Melon and Polaris, in addition to a class Hallertauer Pils with a "terroir-twist." With Spalter Hallertauer: Well-balanced with a satisfying bread grain flavor and just the right amount of bitterness, this very unique brew features the bright, citrus notes familiar to a traditional German Pilsner, but with floral and melon qualities and a hint of spice in the finish.

@ CBC. A lot of people were talking about this one. Slightly hazy dark straw. The aroma is a little orangey but with some of that spalt grassiness. Moderate bitterness, sweet pale malts - that’s really the showcase ingredient for me here because they’re beautiful- and the finish is dry, with those clean malts and a dash of earthy, slightly grassy bitterness.

hazy gold, thin white head and low lacing. Huge tea nose, faint lemon and florals but empty. Flavor way stronger, more reminiscent of victory pils with toast, too much sugar front merging into dough mid with high carbonation accenting vitamin c, but not offensively.

Clear golden body, medium sized white head, soapy lacing. Clean citrus, grass, and spicy German yeast. Medium to light bodied, lively carbonation, bright refreshing bitterness. A great display of Hallertau.

Hazy golden color with a medium sized, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toast, floral hops, grass, and citrus. Taste of toast, light honey, citrus, grass, and a dry, peppery finish.

ROGUE (2127) - Newark, Delaware, USA - AUG 28, 2014
On tap @ SL Liquors. Pours a clear pale golden color with a one finger thin white head. Aroma is citrusy and grassy with a biscuity character, along with hints of lemon zest and mild peppery notes. Taste is mildly spicy with grassy and citrusy hop notes paired with a sweet bready malt backbone. Some light caramel and biscuity malts linger in the background. Light bodied with a mild syrupy texture and very crisp.

Growler from State Line. Nose noble hops, bready, grassy, citric, light wafting perfume silage; pours very pale yellow with a white head. Taste medium bitter and semi-dry, spicy full bottle with strong lines of citrus and bread with grass, golden pils malt, floral and yes, melon qualities. Very very lightly grainy around the edges but it’s good character. Fun, and very soft-bodied for a pils, refreshing and moreish, and just squeezes all of the juice out of the Spalter. Yummm.
