4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 30, 2014 Lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruits, green grape, some citrus, honey, spices, and alcohol. Taste of citrus, light tropical fruits, green grape, yeast, faint alcohol and a dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Johnny Brendas. Aroma is apple peel and lemon zest. Pours dirty blonde with a nice medium head. Taste is citrus zest, dried apple, and a dry yeasty finish. Clean in the mouth but nothing spectacular. Light and crisp and certainly no sign of the high alcohol. I like it but it didn’t really stick out.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
hazy gold, thin white ring, decent lacing. Heavy sulfuric egg in the dusty nose, light ethanol and wheaty bubblegum esters. Light banana and drying wheat front, bracing dryness mid with punchy heat before the huge crust whack in the prickly finish.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I feel motivated to rate this as its probably the best beer I’ve had this year, and I did not expect much. Victory isn’t typically known for Belgian styles, and their standard trippel Golden Monkey is decent but not great. This is an explosion of tropical fruits, especially passion fruit, mango, banana, a pungent Belgian yeast to work with the fruit sugars. Really an explosion of flavors and so strange the way it weaves that tapestry. Please make this a regular offering.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden body, thin white head, spotty lacing. My first exposure to hallertau blanc... Interesting as it shows some white wine grape, a little bell pepper, citrus, and yeasty esters. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, slightly sweet, a little boozy. Would love to see this hop in a Victory pils.
