Hawksfan17 (655), Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 28, 2008 Smells of grain, wheat and fruit. Pours a reddish-brown. Notes of hops, fruit, maybe raspberry in the flavor. Surprising and good. fredandboboflo (618), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 26, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Aroma of sweet fruit, some vomit. Flavor of earthy coffee, earthy fruit, vegetation. Not inspiring. puzzl (1817), New York, New York, USA Jul 20, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Corny, grainy aroma, with tomato. Wet hay, light corn. A very weak interpretation of the style, with no distinct characteristics. Comes across more as a slightly darkened American lager. JoeMcPhee (3807), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 16, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Deep amber beer. No head. Aroma is strange, lightly herbal and toasty. Earthy and lightly chewy with a light herbal bitterness and a bit of light earthiness. Soft bitterness with some light chewy maltiness. Earthy and a little bit chewy. It’s not bad. Lingering crackery malts. LilBeerDoctor (624), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 10, 2008 On tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a dark amber with a small head. Aroma of sweet malts. Flavor is very malty, including some roasted malts. Pretty decent beer, not too much going on here, but it serves its purpose well.
