Wildly assertive, intentionally untamed and dangerously satisfying, DirtWolf Double IPA is the culmination of Victory’s double IPA series experiment with whole flower American-grown hops. With two-row German malts and a well-balanced combination of whole flower Citra, Chinook, Simcoe and Mosaic hops, this 8.7% abv brew blends the powerful citrus aroma and fruity flavors, with the piney, earthy and mildly floral characteristics found in these intriguing hop varieties. Replacing Victory’s Hop Wallop® Ale, which will take a hiatus from the market for the time being, DirtWolf Double IPA will launch the brewery’s entry into four-packs when it begins to hit markets in October". “So a wolf and a prospector walked into a bar…,” joked President and Brewmaster, Bill Covaleski. “No, in all seriousness, Hop Wallop will be missed, but isn’t necessarily gone forever. We developed that brand 10 years ago as our flavorful response to the hop-bomb vogue of the time. But as brewers who enjoy experimenting with beer styles and ingredient varieties, we looked for the opportunity to do other interesting recipes as time passed. Making the decision to put Hop Wallop aside for a few years allows us to bring this delicious new double IPA, DirtWolf, to the market in bottles.

Darkly heroic, Humulus Lupulus (hops) have empowered brews with bite and character since the 11th century. DirtWolf is a tribute to these untamed vines which rise from the earth with the voracity of a ’wolf among sheep.’ Hops have made an assertive comeback in American craft brewing. Revel in the best US varieties of hops, in their natural, whole flower form, as they bring a vital, pungent reality to the soul of a wild element in our dangerously satisfying DirtWolf. Cheers, Bill, Ron, The Brewmasters of Victory.

pine lemon and grapefruit strong in the aroma with candyish and deeper malt in the way far back..wow..clear yellow with a pure white head with much lacing..taste is major..possibly the strongest pine hops ive ever tasted with a none too shabby blend of pure grapefruit, lemon, and even a minty yeast..malt purely for background but there..palate medium bodied fairly dry finish with long aftertaste,,overall this is a major ipa these are really strong hop flavors that are perfectly balanced to compliment each other at about 8-9 bucks for a four pack which will be plenty for one session

A bit hazy with a thin head. Nice smell with pine, grass and tropical fruits. Very bitter taste with a hint of pine and sprucesprouts, citrus and green fresh herbs. Long bitter finish with pine and citrus. Although high on alcohol, 8.7%, it feels light and fresh, but with a punch. I like this one and I think its a beautiful IPA!

12 ounce bottle - Barrel & Barley Craft Beer Market in Woodstock, Georgia. Appearance: Pale copper-hued body, a bit hazy, with almost an inch of whitish foam. Smell: Chiefly hoppy in the nose, sporting notes of melon, citrus, fresh herb, riding atop the softly bready, lightly doughy, lightly honeyish malts. Taste: Honey-toned malts blended with the melony, citrusy, floral hop flavors. Bready base malts, a little doughy. There’s an encroaching dank resinous quality. Medium-high bitterness. Some semblance of a renewed honey taste underneath the hops. An alcoholic warmth and a little boozy bent precedes the resiny, bitter finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation which has some life to it. Overall: It’s fine, acceptable, but it’s just good to see ole Victory making the effort.

12 ounce bottle. Pale yellow gold color. Small fluffy white head. Nice clinging lace. Fragrant pine hop aroma with notes of sweet honeyish malt. Bittersweet citrus hops are big and bold right from to go. There is an underlying rich maltiness that carries the huge hop bill at first. The complex spicy hop bitterness dominates the palate. There is a tropical fruit malt character in the mid taste and a chewy resin hoppiness in the finish. Outstanding.

På flaska från systemet. Gyllengul färg men en vit fingerhög skumkrona. Stor doft av sommaräng. Smakar sött blommigt med en stor beska som ligger kvar länge i gommen.

Pours hazy golden color with a small head. Very nice hop profile here, sweet fruits and citric notes, resinous hops with some grass. Palate is equally pleasant, sweetish caramel, lemon, resin and some toffee. Very good balance.

355 ml bottle. Pours a cloudy orange amber colour with a small head. Aroma of rich floral hops, grapefruit and exotic fruitiness. Very rich bitter flavour with strong grapefruit notes, sweetness, herbs, floral bitterness and some biscuit. Full bodied. Rich, sweet, juicy finish. Brilliant. The hop profile is very similar to some FFF beers.
