12 ounce bottle from four pack. Bitter hop bomb that then becomes big tropical fruit bomb. Some cat urine in there, but in a good way. Tasty.

Doft av citron o sen mera citron o sen kommer passionsfrukten. Smaken ger toner av mint, bark o torrhet samt frukt. Avslutningen var mycket bra med en fin balanserad beska.

> Major upgrade of Hop Wallop replaces a piney, sticky DIPA with a juicy, fresh, tropical modern DIPA
[ Bottle ][ dfroms ][ 12oz ][ Bonus ][ RBWG Globe ][ 3/14/14 ]
>> Thanks dfroms for the bonus- hadn’t tried this yet but have been meaning to.. Pours a clear orange gold...medium, healthy white foam. Okay retention and lacing. Nose is excellent fresh mango, pineapple, vanilla. Taste is not too bitter or astringent...brighter and juicier. Not sticky or orange candy heavy at all. Not piney or dusty. A major upgrade from Hop Wallop. This is an updated DIPA and what I have come to expect in this style that has been gloriously revamped over the past 2 years. Palate is drier, juicy, never papery or nutty astringent. Very solid. Not sure how fresh this is, but super fresh I can see the rave reviews. Victory is really showing some depth of talent here able to do DIPAs, Brett saisons, and lagers.
>!< Time to revamp Hop Devil too

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma - the malts are of caramel nature; the hops are slightly resiny, but mostly floral and jammed with citrus. Because of this it takes on a citrus nose with a bit of pineapple.
Appearance - straw yellow body; liquid is a hazy; the head is big about 2" and off-white, the bubbles are big and the head slowly dissipates; this beer also has really great lacing
Taste - the taste is very nice; hopped but at the same time citrus sweet; the hops are really nice they are more citrusy and floral, and just slightly resiny. It’s caramalts are really complimentary. This is a fine balance. It gives it a pineapple, grapefruit, and lemon like quality.
Palate - is medium; the texture is on the verge of being oily, perfect spot, it’s almost slick; the carbonation is average, but nearly lively; the finish is medium in length and filled with great hop flavors, but not an annoying sting. Feel is 100% genius!
This is really a great beer! I had a bias against Victory, and now I feel I can drop that. This is really good. It’s very similar to Sixpoint Resin. Which to me, is everything I’ve learned to love in an Double IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear orange amber with a good lacing off white head. Aroma is nicely sweet malty caramel orange citric caramel pineapple. Flavor is as good as aroma, very fruity a bit citric and piny but not a bitter hop explosion, more easily drinkable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a very pretty soft lemon rind yellow with two fingers of sticky white head. Nose is very intensely hoppy, wonderful mango and overripe citrus, some grassy notes, and round sweet fruit. Flavor shows some alcohol and a green grassy hop bitterness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an orange amber with a soft carbonation resulting in a thin but sticky foam head. The aroma is of citrus hops and some pine with very earthy scents. There was also a soft malty backbone in the aroma. In the flavor I noticed a moderate to heavy bitterness, a nice grain malt body, and a mild booze flavor. The finish has a lingering but pleasant bitterness with a defined dryness and a weak malty tone. Overall this is a solid above average DIPA.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
It’s good- but more of a good thing does not necessarily make it better. Pretty in-yo-face with the hops and bitterness- assertive and untamed is right. Pours a lighter than expected orange with a nose of citrus and pine. Taste has many layers to it- tons going on here. One could find just about any flavor typical in an IPA from grapefruit to earth with a good dose of breadiness for good measure. Finish is pretty dry- definitely leaves a tannic feeling in the mouth. It’s a well-done and totally bold IPA- just not a personal favorite. Had on tap at Bohemian Bull.
