Light roasty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Roasted malty flavor, light chocolate with an earthy hint. Slight acidity. Pretty true to the dry stout style. jrmac (210), USA Aug 4, 2009 A very thin and sad stout compared to the storm king. a different style of course, but I prefer the heavier creamier stouts to the dry stuff. Gabler (86), , New York, USA Jul 13, 2009 Tap. Poured dark brown, medium light brown head. Aroma was lightly roasted malts, hint of hops. Coffee, roasted malt notes in the flavor. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Highly drinkable dark beer. A winner! tarheels86 (703), Washington DC, USA Jul 8, 2009 On tap at Bilbo Baggins in Alexandria, VA. Pours a deep ruby with a one finger tan nitro head. Aroma is light and subdued but roasty, cocoa. Taste is light to medium bodied with cocoa, malted milk balls, and some chocolate covered strawberries. Sweet, refreshing flavor rather than heavy roasted, typical stouts flavors. Clean finish. Lackluster but enjoyable.
