The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of 'the auld sod' while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful. Served on mixture of 75% nitro and 25% CO2.

Draft at Blind Tiger. Pours near black with a creamy nitro head. Light roasty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Roasted malty flavor, light chocolate with an earthy hint. Slight acidity. Pretty true to the dry stout style.

A very thin and sad stout compared to the storm king. a different style of course, but I prefer the heavier creamier stouts to the dry stuff.

Tap. Poured dark brown, medium light brown head. Aroma was lightly roasted malts, hint of hops. Coffee, roasted malt notes in the flavor. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Highly drinkable dark beer. A winner!

On tap at Bilbo Baggins in Alexandria, VA. Pours a deep ruby with a one finger tan nitro head. Aroma is light and subdued but roasty, cocoa. Taste is light to medium bodied with cocoa, malted milk balls, and some chocolate covered strawberries. Sweet, refreshing flavor rather than heavy roasted, typical stouts flavors. Clean finish. Lackluster but enjoyable.

Tap at Barcade: True to style pour (Guinness look) with that dense creamy light tan nitro head. Very mild aromatics- like most Dry Stouts. Some charred/papery barley. Very light fluffy feel. Papery bar;ey and dark roast dominate the subdued flavor. A touch of dark cocoa is there when you search for malt nuance. Very light overall, but decent for the style. (Dry Stouts really suck, in general; and it’s a shame because this is the style stout that the masses are subjected to- Guinness, which is far worse than this example)

pint @ Tyler’s Apex. ok aroma, rosted malt, marshmallow, minor vinious streak, Nice fluffy head, great lacing. Bitter flavor, lite roast, coffee. Lite body, watery mouth feel, dry finish. Tasty enough, I’ll take it before guiness. Appearence was best part, looked picture perfect. Mild in the other aspects.

Watery, weak, tastes like Guinness. A hint of roastedness, but its barely there. Pretty pitiful, but nothing offensive.

Nitro pint at Trappeze. Pours reddish black with a firm, creamy head. The aroma is very dry with suggestions of sourdough and dark chocolate. This beer is really light on the palate, but is super creamy and doesn’t skimp on flavor. Hints of nuts, buttermilk, chocolate, and a dry, lingering wooden finish are here. I was in the mood for a light session beer and this one delivers in that department.
