COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of 'the auld sod' while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful. Served on mixture of 75% nitro and 25% CO2.

Tap. Deep brown with small head and light nitro carbonation. Very thin mouthfeel. Roasty, bordering on charred. Extremely odd stout.

perfect example of the style...this makes me want to sit and drink all day long...and due to the light ABV content that is very much a possible reality!

tap at Black Acre brewpub last fall - Nitro tap. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. It has a mild roast malt aroma. The dark roast malt flavor is on the watery side. Itís medium bodied and an okay beer, but far less than impressive. Victory can do better.

It is always daunting to take a look at the board at New Albanian and make a decision. Since I had to keep driving I chose to stay away from the higher gravity beers in favor of something lightweight. This was the perfect thing - full of flavor but not a punch you in the face stout.

Aroma / Appearance - The deep base shows hints of carbonation amid the black liquid. A mocha head is gentle as it traps the smell of iced coffee, hazel, almonds, and spring weather.

Flavor / Palate - Chilled coffee is almost immediate on the tongue. A few seconds later comes creamy milk. It fades fast but is very refreshing for a less than 4% ABV. It didnít take long to finish the pint.

Draft. Chocolate barley malt aroma. Very dark chestnut with moderate head. Chocolate-coffee malt flavor with a light hay hops flavor. Very nice.

A decent stout, I suppose, but there are many other stouts I would much rather drink. Average, nothing special, not really worth a repeat in my opinion.
