COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of 'the auld sod' while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful. Served on mixture of 75% nitro and 25% CO2.

It is always daunting to take a look at the board at New Albanian and make a decision. Since I had to keep driving I chose to stay away from the higher gravity beers in favor of something lightweight. This was the perfect thing - full of flavor but not a punch you in the face stout.

Aroma / Appearance - The deep base shows hints of carbonation amid the black liquid. A mocha head is gentle as it traps the smell of iced coffee, hazel, almonds, and spring weather.

Flavor / Palate - Chilled coffee is almost immediate on the tongue. A few seconds later comes creamy milk. It fades fast but is very refreshing for a less than 4% ABV. It didn’t take long to finish the pint.

Draft. Chocolate barley malt aroma. Very dark chestnut with moderate head. Chocolate-coffee malt flavor with a light hay hops flavor. Very nice.

A decent stout, I suppose, but there are many other stouts I would much rather drink. Average, nothing special, not really worth a repeat in my opinion.

Black in color with tan head... Creamy mouthfeel like a Guinness.... Maybe a little thinner and more watery, slight hops and coffee on the finish... Definitely brewed in the English style, slightly underwhelming

On tap. Black pour with fluffy nitro head. Very mild roast aroma. This strikes me as an upgraded version of Guinness - which I suppose is bound to happen when it’s a stout and the nitro tap has knocked all the flavor out of the beer. It was easy to drink and I appreciated the low alcohol.

Aroma: roasted coffee, molasses, caramel, cocoa. Appearance: black with off-white creamy head foam. Taste: coffee, brewed tea, slight black pepper, some nuttiness. Palate: soft and creamy, very sessionable, light dry and roasty finish.

One of my favorite stouts. It’s a little lighter than Storm king. If you like guiness you’ll like this.

Nitro tap at Three Fires. Coffee, chocolate, earthy/peaty aroma. Deep mahogany with a creamy tan nitro head. Light roasted coffee, earthy/dirt, and subtle spruce flavor with a light spicy finish. Light creamy body. Really great flavor for 3.7%. I was a little surprised at this one.
