2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sample at World Of Beer. Pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted and a bit of chocolate. Light body with a sweet roast character and notes of chocolate malt and grain. The finish is short with a malt aftertaste. Pretty forgettable beer all in all.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Oblivion Taproom. This dry stout wasn’t too dry, but had more hop dryness than I’d like in a stout. The finish was light and roasty with a hint of cocoa, but altogether very mellow.

Draught@Blind Tiger, NY
Dark brown color, steady creamy beige head. Toasted aroma with tobacco and some citrusy notes. Light to medium-bodied. Flavor has toastyness and light earthy notes. Watery finish. Disappointment from Victory.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nitro at Fountainhead. Pours a rich deep brown-black with a tan head. Nose is toasty and chocolatey malts. Some soft grassy hops. Really clean and nice. On tasting, great balance. Medium bodied with drying roast. Light coffee notes and a good hop bitterness. Again, clean and pretty refreshing. Great Dry Stout.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap @ Pony w Streets. Black pour, light cinnamon head with heavy, webby lacing. Aroma is tobacco smoke. Thin, watery palate with light notes of roasty malts but not much else going on. It’s like a thinner, more boring Guinness. Really not much to not but it’s not really bad. No donnybrook going on here.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On nitro-tap at Rustico - Alexandria. Served in a pint glass.
Pours a very dark brown with a very impressive reverse-cascading mocha head and good retention. The nose carries some very light roast and a touch of chocolate. Nothing too complex, but I wasn’t expecting too much. Flavor falls a bit flat after the nose, with just a bit of roast and not much else. Medium body with a nice nitro feel. Pretty good, though below Victory standards for me.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: Brown/black body which is kind of transparent considering the coloration.. off white head which quick disappeared.
S: Standard roasted malt aroma.. caramel, coffee and chocolate
T: A solid balance of classic flavors... good chocolate bitterness and caramel sweetness... hints of coffee and breadyness
M: Medium bodied.. not as hearty as others in this style..
O: A good all around stout... i’d take it over a Guinness for a change in scenery...

Tap@Victory, this is a great light stout. I have finally made it out to the source. Ruby color, light taste with clean finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Victory Brewing. I preface this by saying that I drank this to stay sober to drive home on Thanksgiving Eve. This pours black with a nice head. Looks remarkable like guinness. Taste is a little thinner comparably but a little richer o nthe malt. This was really tasty if you are not looking for the alcohol effects.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On nitro tap at Boneshakers, Rocklin. Pours black with a pretty beige head and a smoked cocoa aroma. There is a medium-bodied treacle flavor, very creamy, with a dry burnt finish.
