First Impression: Aroma is sweet cocoa, coffee, and mold. Visuals deep black with a long lasting head. Taste coffee, some hops, nice depth and flavor. Palate dry with a short finish. Second Impression a very nice stout, and a great way to celebrate my birthday.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampler at the brew pub. One word to describe this stout is SMOOTH. The taste of creamy roasted malts with very low alcohol content.

perfect example of the style...this makes me want to sit and drink all day long...and due to the light ABV content that is very much a possible reality!

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Khyber Pass Pub, Philadelphia. Dark black color. Creamy head. Little aroma and its not from being too chilled . Chocolaty malt, but weak flavor for the style.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Just not that tasty. All bland malts no character. i was rather surprised. Super creamy head poured dark. Mouthfeel was weak and slick. Taste was wet doggish.

Had on tap. Nitro poured into a pint glass a black color with a nice, creamy tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt with a little nuttiness. Taste of burnt chocolate and coffee along with the roasted malts.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2007 A nice, easy drinking Guinnes like nitro-infused dry stout. It seems to be a growing trend at the time around West Chester for brewpubs and breweries to create nitro-stouts and Victory does a fine job with the style. Recommended.

Enjoyed on tap at Victory’s brew pub. Not too much going on here for a stout; probably the lightest stout I’ve ever had. Stout Light... could be trouble. Thank god for the low alcohol percent because one can definately down a few of these without thinking (try that with Victory’s Storm King...). Definately sample (at least) if you go to the pub... I tried to take it home in a growler but the server wouldn’t let me. A shame.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A very thin and sad stout compared to the storm king. a different style of course, but I prefer the heavier creamier stouts to the dry stuff.

Tap on nitro at Victory Brewpub. Beautiful looking beer, dark brown with a thick off-white head. Malty nose with some nutty overtones. Feels delightfully creamy in your mouth thanks to the nitro head. Taste is somewhat thin, and a little bit bitter. Looks great and has a perfect stout mouthfeel, but in the end it doesnt do much to distinguish itself from any other traditional Irish stout.
