3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hawthorne00 (1300) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 7, 2012
Bottle. Amber with a light beige head that fades to a coat. Aroma of toffee, bread, toasted nuts. Taste has toffee and nuts, but despite richness it’s not very sweet and has balancing bitterness with mild spices. Solid if unspectacular.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bkurtz (461) - PERU - JAN 29, 2012
Poured clear amber with a decent head. Bready aroma with sweet malt and smooth finish. Victory makes some great beers, this is a good one for everyday in October.

Caramel and a little orange in the aroma. More sweet caramel in the taste. This is a little sweeter than I like, but it has more flavor than you typically get in an Oktoberfest, and it’s still an easy drinker.

Hay, nuts, Roasty not bad but there are certainly better. The starting is quickly overshadowed by a bland but lingering finish

Reviewed from notes (2007).
A: Amber brown body with a thick healthy cream white head.
S: Strong malt aromas power through with a dash of hops in the back end
T: The malt aroma is manifested in a rich malty taste. Caramel comes through a bit towards the middle and a strong roasted finish.
M: Creamy mouthfeel that sits on the palate with a bit of carbonation.
O: Very refreshing... first had this at Victory’s Fall Fest... fresh and lovely on a warm fall day.

12oz bottle from an October trip to Colorado. Simply the best American-made Oktoberfest beer out there...nutty, roasted caramel malts dominate both aroma and flavor, with a refreshing crisp dryness from Saaz hops at the finish. Clear honey orange with a moderate white head and well-balanced carbonation.

Clear honey brown pour. Medium head dissipated rather quickly. Aroma is nutty, bready, caramel, spice. Flavor profile mirrors the nose, with a nice spice character - cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spices. Sweet throughout, dries up a bit on the finish. The finish is crisp and clean. Average.
