Commercial Description:
Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

Bottle sample at Clifton Beer Fest. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration.

A little darker than yer typical pale yellow american beer. No haze, transparent. Less than average carbonation. Slight bitter hops on the flavor and in the finish, probably not to style. Smooth, as advertised. Moonglow is better.

12oz bottle. Reddish tea-like appearance with an orange hue; medium off-white head with good retention and lacing. Nose is very sweet, showing grapes and candy sugar. Mouthfeel shows crisp carbonation, tea-like dryness, plenty of candy sugar, floral hops, and slightly vegetal (a fact my fiance won’t shut up about - kudos to 1FastSTi for pegging it as corn; she’s now appeased). Light-to-medium finish. This is decent, but would earn a few points without the vegetal aspect.

Clear and light brown, plain in the glass. Very bready aromas with some light caramel. Lots of carbonation/gas on the palate. Kind of thin. Caramel presence and some bready elements, but nothing too exciting. There are many better beers from the good folks at Victory.

12oz bottle-Aroma of malt on an amber body with a white head that dissipated quickly. A malty taste with caramel and toffee on the back end. Nice tasting brew.

Tap: Pours a mild amber color. Flavor is of some sweet malts with a bit of alcohol and a little bit of hops. This is not a very complex, flavorful, or very good marzen.

I liked this stuff alot. I like mostly malt stuff. There are some hops in there, not too much. Its very easy to drink. Goes flat quickly so drink it fast...

Not my favorite Victory brew by a long shot, but not a bad marzen. Very similar to the Sam Adams O-fest, but with a bit less sweet maltiness and a bit more hops.
