Smell is of rich malt, a bit of sweet fruit, a touch of sour bread, along with a mild helping of hops for good measure.
Taste is a nice blend of the above making for a nice rendition of the style with just enough difference to make it a Victory beer.
Mouthfeel is malty sweet with some sours and bitters and a crispness on the tongue and palate.
Pretty enjoyable. clifford0163 (93), Maryland, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 14, 2005 Average head/colour/etc. The interesting thing about this beer is that I thought it started off with a skanky-US Macro brew taste to it. It was very harsh on the palate. However, that taste quickly dissipates, and gave way to a more traditional Octoberfest taste.
The initial taste is so foul though, that I had to give this one an average rating. Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a dark copper with a nice off white head. Flavor was good, caramel, toffee, toasted malt. Palate was medium bodied and finished well. Good beer for football. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 11, 2005 Nice, nonthreatening fest beer. Very easy to drink. Amber-copper pour with a small head. Slight yeasty bread notes. Good use of hops seals the deal. lamas (715), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA

Sweet, caramelly malts dominate the aroma. Tastes like it smells, only with some graininess too. Like a bran flake cereal. A surprisingly dry, bitter, lingering finish. Medium to thin-bodied. Pretty boring. At least the label is cool. MmmmCheese (29), Columbia, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 7, 2005 a minimal head, nice brown color, not much interesting going on here other than the color. It is the best fest beer I’ve had but I’ve only had two. scraff (1942), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2005 Clear sparkling orangey brown, thin off white head. Light spicy German hops nose with additinal toffee and caramel notes, with even softer tones of cherry and fresh bread mixed in. Flavor was similar, quite toasty, lightly nutty, with caramel malt playing of the spicy hops rather nicely for balance. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, light toasty, German hop finish. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either...
