Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

Orange amber color with a bit of a head and a grainy aroma. Flavor is heavy on the grains and pleasant. Victory is capable of much more and this wasn’t nearly as crisp as I expected.

An amber beer with a thick, but disappearing orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of straw and caramel. I find it quite mainstream.

This is one of the few beers I enjoy from Victory. It has a golden/brown color and the smell is very inviting. The flavor is malt, some slight fruit, crispness, and some hops at the end. It is a nice Oktoberfest and I am glad to be enjoying a Victory brew.

Bottle, courtesy of Jim Busch, July 2006. Not one of my favourite Victory beers, but this isn’t really one of my favourite styles. Golden colour. There’s a good depth of toasty, bready malt here and hints of grassy hop. Mellow mouthfeel. In other words much as you’d expect from an Oktoberfest. So pretty authentic but not entirely to my taste.

12oz bottle, Enjoy By Feb 24 07. Pours a clear reddish orange with a 1/2 finger beige head. Aroma is quite sweet with raisins, brown sugar, toasted marshmallows, nuts and caramelly malts. There was a bit of spicy hops after a few whiffs. The flavor up front is a bit tart, but is mostly sweet the rest of the way through. Smells a bit better than it tastes. Medium bodied, low carbonation. I think this may be a tad underrated--or else maybe it’s been a while since I’ve had a good Oktoberfest.

Bottle. Pours a deep clear amber with a minute head that disappears. Aroma is malt, bread, some citrus. Flavor is brown sugar, malt, fruit, hint of floral hops. Palate is medium, low carbonation, malty finish. Acceptable.

#940, bottle from Sams in Downers Grove. Slightly cear with some floaters here and there. Amber with a medium sized off white to tan head that was Quickly discipating and leaving a thin rim. The nose is malty, grainy and yeasty. The taste is just about the same but the yeast is very very strong, for the style fairly good and finishes rather soft and creamy. Not bad, not great.

Bottle. Good aroma with spices but lacking a good look as with most Marzen’s. Decent flavor and aftertaste but still smooth.

Bottled. Poured a nice shade of autumny orange with a quickly-receding cap of off-white head. Nose picked up floral hops and sweet caramel.. nothing groundbreaking and a little on the stale side. Caramel and toffee formed a nice flavor base that was accented by alcohol and floral hops. The body was too light and there was more apparent alcohol than there should have been... Decent overall, but certainly not the best O’fest.

12 oz bottle. Deep orange colour, crystal clear with no head at all. Lovely deep rich maltiness. Munich malt and some decocted malitness are on display. Flavour shows a kiss of floral hops, lingering light breadiness. Not a lot of complexity, but this is all about being easy to drink… something it accomplishes well.
