Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

Bottle. This is probably my most favorite Oktoberfest beer this season. It is not overpowering, and relatively balanced. The malts aren’t too overpowering, and the hop balance is just about right. Very nice subtle bitter finish.

Sept. 21, 2007; 12 oz. bottle. I enjoy this quite distinctive and somewhat muted style when it’s in season, and Victory has come up with a nice take on it, although (being a big Hop Devil fan) I was disappointed they didn’t manage to hit this one out of the park.

I think that this was a very balanced and very enjoyable brew. Nice oktoberfest beer. Best Ive had so far.

Bouquet is oak, cherry, and caramel. It looks similar to ice tea with its clear, diluted red amber color. Malt with an ideal level of sourness. Very faint hop finish. It’s enjoyable, but I became less enamored with it the more I drank. It warms poorly and probably should only be drunk cold.

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malts, caramel, spices, and a very subtle hop aroma. Dissapointed in the flavor on this one after the aroma. Very little flavor of toasted malts, caramel, and a little spices. Flavor dies away pretty quickly. I was hoping for something better.

Pours copper with a thin white head. smells of biscuits, caramel, some peppery hops, hints of citrus. Tastes of caramel, some nutty qualities and somewhat molassessy. Mouthfeel is a little thin but crisp with a decent bitter finish.

poured a tarnished copper with slight hay tinge around the edges, almost zero head that completely vanished despite a relatively vigorous pour. Nose mostly of caramel, some nuts, irony malts, thin on the palate, typical festbier cereal flavor, hops show up lacklusterly in the clean lager finish both in bitterness and slight hay taste. Really underwhelming for a typically decent brewery.

Bottle from Sam’s consumed on 9/12/07. Pours a caramel amber with a white stone head. Easy drinking, slight caramel malt flavored marzen.

Beautiful amber color. Head was a bit thinner than I would have expected, but the bottle I had may have been >6 months old. Sweet malty flavor on first taste and some mild hop bitterness on finish. A good Oktoberfest marzen-style beer, but not great. There are many other better beers out there for this style.

A mildly malty, overly hoppy, highly carbonated, not very tasty beer. When I finish what I bought that’s the end of this beer. There certainly are worse brews but there a a whole lot better
