Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

Bottle. Golden orange in colour. Aroma was of flowers and citrus first with malt and a light sweetness second. The flavour had some lemons, yeast, light hops and light roasted malt. Sugary medium-light body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a medium length mild bitterness.

On tap at Victory. Nothing stands out too much about it. Solid Octoberfest, but nothing spectacular. Nothing to write home about, but you can’t blame a great brewery for making a good version of a mediocre style.

Got this from the fridge from andy’s. The sell bye date was 12/31 so ,,,Well, I was expecting more from victory. Poured mid-amber color. Thin wispy head. No lacing. Light on the body and the flavor. Very little hops. Disappointed. On that note, I can’t kill this it was pleasant and balanced.

(12 oz bottle, obtained in trade with Eyedrinkale, thanks Mike!) Nope! This is a big disappointment to me. I was expecting a great brewery like Victory would produce an Oktoberfest that would wow me, or at least make me nod my head in approval. It did neither. Well wait, it did wow me. Wow, this isn’t a very good beer!!! This is WAY too floral, and too sugary sweet for the style, and forget about what style this is supposed to be, the floral, sugary flavor doesn’t appeal to me in general. I think I detect some light roastiness far in the background, but it’s far too submissive to have any impact. There seems to be very little in the way of hops, and this beer is craving a balancing hoppiness to break up the sugary, caramely sweetness. The nose is more malty than the flavor, but still fairly floral and sweet. Amber color. Off-white head pours to average size and maintains a thin layer, but doesn’t leave more than a few wisps of lace on the glass. Jeez, what a disappointment.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2008 [12 oz. bottle] Amber/orange pour with a very thin white head. Mainly malt in the aroma with hints of sweet and a touch of hops. Rather smooth flavor. The hops and malt are blended well and leave a very smooth malty aftertaste.

On tap at the Maproom in Chicago. Light amber color with a thin white head. The nose is a malty caramel with a hint of grass. The taste is lightly sweet with flowers and a touch of toffee. There is also a little bit of brown sugar in this. A decent and light brew.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2006 Poured light amber with practically no head. The head looked big but dissapeared really quickly. Nose has caramel, currant, orange and citrus. Taste is descent overall but not real strong. There is a descent maltiness in the mouthfeel, but nothing to write home about. Nice balanced session beer from Victory, but not their best stuff.

Nice easy-drinking beer. Standard amber body with some fresh citrus hops and sweet caramel malt aromas Malty with a touch of citrus and yeast in the medium mouthfeel. Nice aftertaste with a light bitter touch.
