COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

I am a huge fan of Victory and have been for a long time- but this beer is not their strongest. It’s not flawed in any way, but there are other American versions of Octoberfest beers that are more flavorful, Brooklyn and Dominion are two that I have tried this year that come to mind. This tasted more like a basic lager without the caramel notes that I usually assosciate with Fest beers. Good, butnot Victory’s best.

Bottle: Aroma is light Euro-lager sweetness with moderate grassy hops. Pours a bright transparent amber witih a small white head. Flavor is just like the aroma. Euro-lager sweetness up front with a grassy hop finish. Very bland and not a good example of the style in my opinion.

On tap at Firkin’s, Libertyville, IL. Clear amber hued beer having average sized white head with excellent lacing. Nice malty aroma. Soft carbonation. Medium bodied. Dry palate that starts hoppy with little malt and finishes dry and hoppy. An enjoyable beer, especially with garlicky pizza.

Another dissapointing brew from these guys. No aroma to speak of. Flavor has lots of toasted malt, with a touch of caramel. Finishes with a rather watered down malt sweetness.

Pours a brown orange clear color with small amount of fizzy white head. Caramel malt aroma with sweet fruit undertones. Flavor is roasted malts, caramel, sweet apple orange flavors, with a nice amount of citrus hoppiness thrown in their too. Overall, this is a much more robust oktoberfest beer and I particularly liked that

An excellent oktoberfest. One of the best US versions. Almost as good as the German ones.

pretty decent dark oktoberfest. mild aroma, mostly toasted nutty malt and some lager-like yeastiness. nicely malted body, very nutty and toasted bread flavors that make it seem like it was aged in a cedar cask for a while with the distinctive woodiness. very pleasant.

Cornfield (5506) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - OCT 6, 2005
UPDATED: JAN 24, 2006 Nice Marzen, an orange/copper body with a dense off-white head. The aroma is a toasty malt, caramel and toffee, with a modest trace of floral hops. Thick and smooth in the mouth, the sweet malts run the show. The hops do make a slight return to balance the whole drink out. Good Stuff.

Pours copper with a two-finger off-white head. Toffee, caramel, and a slight roastiness. In the aroma. Flavor is the same, with a long finish. Excellent Fest

Bottle, poured with an average frothy head, has a clear pleasant copper coloring, a light bready aroma and touchs of sweeter malt on the nose and in taste. Solidly built on the palate & medium of body. Overall smooth, has elements of a silky mouthfeel followed by a nice lighter stickiness. Fair hop finish; subtle. Quite enjoyable.
