2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Orange/amber body, small off-white head. Mildly malty aroma and flavor. Slight bit of a hoppy bite towards the end but not too much going on here. Marzens typical dissapoint me and this one is nol exception.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(sample @ brewery) orange amber color, very clear, with a long-lasting if small head. nose is primarily sweet and malty, with a mild toast underneath. flavor is malty and sweet, and rather heavy. beer is definately balanced toward the malt, and though not that heavy a body, still somewhat cloying.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a copper color with a small off white head and left some lacing on the glass. Caramel malt aroma. Light bitterness, and a sweet smooth malt taste. Rather watery, but also light and refreshing.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Creamy, bubbling, humdinger head; a perfect darkish amber color. Aroma: fresh, clean, floral, nuts, buttery and sweet, vanilla, bananas, soft spices. Little hops, heavy with malt. Incredibly sweet on the tongue, long and lovely finish. A tasty sizzle on the palate, very flavorful, and an unusually characterful lager. One of the more subtle, but satisfying Oktoberfests I've ever enjoyed.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is one of the good festbiers. Nice sweet caramel malt gives it enough flavor to be worth drinking. It's a liquid caramel clear body with a decent head that is a bit fizzy. Easy drinking and another example that Victory is one of the better microbreweries when it comes to lagers.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice amber color, no head, not even any little bubbles looked flat. Aroma is weak, slightly malty maybe a little ripe fruit, kinda bananaish. Flavor is sort of malty with a bit of a nutty finish. Had this draft at Victory in the sampler. One of the weakest in the show.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear copper/amber color. Aroma slighlty sweet but not very strong. Tasted very sweet. Not a lot of hops present. Kinda reminded me of banana bubble-gum. Very very smooth going down. Pretty good.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear copper with a thin white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with some earthy graininess. Body is thin, semi-sweet, musty and dry. Could use a touch more hops and some more defined maltiness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2004 Draught @ Victory: This one pours a bit of a coppery color, with only a little head. Some lacing down the glass. A fairly decent malt nose. A trace of hops. The taste is pretty much along the same lines. There is a bit of a smokey, dry taste to it also. A very smooth, easy drinking beer. Good for session drinking.
