soccer290 (135), Highland Park, Illinois, USA Jun 4, 2009 12 oz bottle. Wow, a somewhat rare beer that isn’t badly rated, found on the 99 cent shelf of my liquor store. Sweet deal. Pours a brownish red, with hints of orange, along with a tiny white head that disippates quickly. Smells of hops, caramel, and some strange fruit (the caramel makes me think of apple though). Tastes of lots of caramel malt (almost has bite to it, with how much there is), and thats about it. Light-medium bodied, with that strange bite. Interesting beer, worth the 99 cents, but absolutely not special. Almost reminded me of a barley wine. elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA May 21, 2009 Bottle for $1.99 in CT. Pours clear amber-pink with a small head. Aroma has caramel and some earthiness, but nothing very complex. Flavor is similar: a light, refreshing maltier brew with a touch of buttery fruit and nuts. OK, but boring by Victory’s standards. kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA May 15, 2009 Pours from the bottle to a hazy burnt orange with very little head or lacing, and a nose that is malty cookie dough and candy, with a faint side of ly hops, apples and citrus fruit. Mourthfeel is fairly flat and non-descript, and I actually picked up the hoopy apples more than the malt side in the taste. No alcohol ever makes itself know, and the finish is so-so.
shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA May 7, 2009 pours amber with a white head that dissappears quicky. medium body. light bitterness. notes of grapefruit, bread, and caramel. quite smooth. an okay session glennmastrange (807), hobe sound, Florida, USA May 5, 2009 Bottle. Moderate malt notes of light bread, nutty, and cereal, light herbs and dough for the hops and yeast, with a hint of toffee. Head is small, fizzy, off-white, with virtually no lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is clear light brown with a red tint. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery yet a little slick and has a fizzy carbonation. A pretty good representation of a Oktoberfestbier. wcampbell (572), Central, South Carolina, USA May 1, 2009 A little dissapointing for a Victory. All malt flavor with some toastiness, but kind of stale tasting. Lightly sweet, not much else going on in this. Some pepper in the finish. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Apr 10, 2009 Clear copperish amber with a medium tan head. Aroma of Munich malts, toffee, dust and something that’s not quite right. Taste of Munich malts, caramel with next to no hop presence.
