3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
No readable bottling information.
Appearance: The body is a clear reddish amber with light amounts of carbonation in the body, the head is thin and light tan with average retention, it’s just a light coating on top now.
Aroma: Fruity esters are prominent upon swirling, with a light floral backing, not much malt presence.
Taste: Light malt sweetness throughout, some light toasted malts, mild hop presence, and light fruity esters. This is very mild and balanced.
Palate: Medium bodied with light to medium carbonation.
Overall: This is a solid Oktoberfest, one of the better American ones more similar to authentic German ones like Ayinger.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: Toasty, bready malts with caramel glaze. Fairly spicy hop presence; sweet potatoes? Appearance: Dark copper pour with a foamy tan head that settles into a patchy ring, nice; natural looking carbonation. Flavor: Very malty as you’d expect, but almost something here reminiscent of a pumpkin beer. Not bad, but unexpected. Quite spicy, almost like some rye addition (surely not!) but that’s what keeps coming to mind; pumpernickel like. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation, abrupt finish. Overall: Hmm. It’s a tasty beer, but something seems odd to me. Strange.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Good for what it is. Would be easy to drink in a stein, but then again I’ve had better marzens. Tasted this at a Giant and didn’t opt for a growler.

Transfer from BA review on 10-14-12-
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – Pours a copper-orange color with a two finger off white head. The head fades over about 3 minutes to leave a lighter amount of lacing.
Smell – Roasted malt are the heaviest of the aromas, although overall the aroma is rather light. With the roast are some lighter notes spice and herbal hop with some hay-like aromas mixed within.
Taste – The taste begins very bready with a good deal of caramel sweetness up front. Some flavors of a sweeter toffee nature come to the tongue with some lighter fruit flavors which create a sweet taste. At the end a nice roast and light herbal flavor come and round out the sweeter flavors; leaving a pleasant sweeter herbal spiced flavor to linger on the tongue. Rather nice.
Mouthfeel – For the abv. and style, the body of the beer is on the slightly creamier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The creamier body if very nice for the sweet yet spicy and roasty flavors with the carbonation level making it very drinkable.
Overall – Other than the lack luster aroma, this is one really fantastic and tasty beer. It is one I will definitely go to again. It has great flavors and a very nice feel.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The body has a deep orange amber color with very good clarity. Its head has a good two finger thickness and is just off white in color. It has very good retention and hangs on well making nice slick lacing on the glass as I drink it down. Its nose is full off floral and spicy Pilsener like saaz hops along with some sweet bready maltiness. There is a good bready malty base flavor with nice sweetness and mild caramel and nutty notes. Hop flavor quickly moves in with very tasty spicy/floral and grassy flavor notes. Hop bitterness is very bright and clean on the finish and well balanced to the malt. The body has a solid medium feel with smooth yet active carbonation.

330 ml bottle in Pompano Beach Fl. Pours a dark amber with a thin beige head. Aroma is an orange, pine malt. Taste is more like a hopped up IPA then a Märzen. That being said it is a good beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes. Consumed 10/20/2012.
Pours a copper color and leaves the same colored body that yields a soapy half inch white head with a concave clingy lacing riding along the sides of the pint glass. Though the body is extremely clear, no carbonation is seen rising.
The smell has some roasted malt with some super light spice and herbal notes with a bit of hay or rye even lighter and perhaps the faintest of all smells of this beer.
The taste is sweet with a decent dose of caramel presence backed up nicely by some toffee and the roasted malts. Once again, there are some super light spices and herbal notes. That hay/rye thing I guess was only in the smell, no worries.
On the palate, it sits about a medium and is slightly sticky with nothing harsh on the tongue. I would say this is a fairly drinkable beer.
Overall, this is a decent brew that I would probably have again, perhaps not one I’d purposely seek out, but maybe the next time I’d have this, I’d have it on tap.
