Aroma of sweet rich maltiness, dripping with toffee and notes of bread and toasted grain. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly sticky with lush carbonation. Very nice festbier, one of the best American examples of the style. Saarlander (1589), Rancho Cucamonga, California, USA

Flavor is heavy on the grains and pleasant. Victory is capable of much more and this wasn’t nearly as crisp as I expected. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 31, 2008 Pours a clear reddish amber with a large foamy beige head. Sweet aroma of crystal malt, lots of hay and some honey. Flavor is the much the same... light flavor, lots of hay, some crystal malt, nothing interesting. Lighter body with softer but crisp carbonation. Very disappointing.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 12, 2008 Attractive dark amber with a white head. Pretty neutral nose, very light grain and a faint hint of grass. Notes start with caramel, toasitness, bread - only a little malty sweentess, some grass/noble hop character. Full, round and creamy with perfect carbonation. If this had more aroma, malty sweetness and hop characater, it would be much better. dmac (1507), Toms River, New Jersey, USA

Pours a transparrent orange with a large off white frothy head. Aroma of spiced malts and a slight touch of honey sweetness as well. Thin bodied with a watery mouthfeel and light carbonation. Bready flavor with noticable maltiness, and a slight bit of sweetness. Pretty standard Octoberfest brew.
