Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

12 oz. bottle from Tyler’s Bottle Shop, Carrboro Ar: Aroma is bready along with some caramel notes. Light grassy hops. Ap: Pours a clear copper with a small, white head that diminishes quickly, leaving spotty lace. T: Very nice caramel and breadiness up front. Obviously malt-centric, but this one isn’t overly sweet and the finish is well balanced with some mild hop bitterness and a bit of grass/hay. P: Medium body, maybe a tad overcarbonated for my liking. O: I think this is a very enjoyable Fest. Clean, simple flavors but enjoyable on a cool fall night nonetheless.

The aroma was malty with a nutty caramel presence of Munich and Vienna malts. Spicy hop notes were present and strong caramel. The beer poured into the glass clear golden amber with a white barely there head. The flavor was malty with a metallic note which was quite strong. The flavor was very one-dimensional and had caramel and a bit of low spicy hop, but not much more. The finish was dry with just a metallic note into the aftertaste. The body was medium and the carbonation was low. Not a well crafted beer, skip it. 12 ounce bottle. Enjoy by Feb 24, 08.

Bottle: A deep amber when poured with a quickly dissipating off white head. Very spicy at the nose and malty on the palate. Finishes well with a nice sweet aftertaste that I couldn’t quite figure out. Looking forward to it on tap.

draft. pours clear brown orange, minimal head. aroma reminded me of honey. light, clean honey. nice malt and grain flavors in the taste. dry, light bitter finish. a solid lager. nothing too complex, but they did well on the malts. my wife liked this one a lot.

Had it on tap. Good to have Märzens back again. It’s a sweet, malty example. Very tasty, great fall beer.

Poured a deep amber with moderate head and light lacing. Aroma was of slightly sweet malts with a slight fruity background. Taste was primarily malts upfront with a slight tanginess and mild/moderate hop finish. Palate was decent. Overall a nice Octoberfest/Marzen.

Clear amber pour with a tan head. Smells of bread and sweet malt. Taste includes biscuit and a little caramel. Finishes with a slightly metallic aftertaste. Pretty much what you would expect for a Märzen.

From Growler. Bought @ Victory Brewing. Pours nice golden copper color. Nice thick foamy white head, that nicely laced the glass half way down. Aroma is malty and sweet. Flavor is malty, with some caramel hints for sweetness, with a touch of grassy hop flavor comes through in the back. Slight spice taste. Nice balance. Could easily have a couple of these. Full bodied. Thick mouthfeel. Carbonation just right.

Not a bad october. Good malty flavors decent hop undertones. Only negative is how heavy this brew is. It really fills you up.
