COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seductively smooth, this medium-bodied amber beauty is akin to the great Oktoberfest beers of Munich. All German hops make this lager true to style. Patient cold aging makes it wonderfully smooth. In bottles September through February

Dissapointing...strange fruity/malt flavor didn’t appeal to me much. Not horrible - but still a letdown.

Clear copper colored body with almost no head formation at all. Smells of sticky, sweet maple and sweet white corn, with a heavily sweet caramel and caramel corn note as well. Some faint cherry wood also shows up at times. Low carbonation, slick and oily, with flavors of semi-sweet maple malt and light plum and cedar. Medium dryness in the finish. Ok to below average.

Pour is a copper with a white head. Aroma is malt and that’s about it. Flavor is weak and watery. No hops or malts show up anywhere. A pretty poor offering from a good brewer

(12 oz bottle, obtained in trade with Eyedrinkale, thanks Mike!) Nope! This is a big disappointment to me. I was expecting a great brewery like Victory would produce an Oktoberfest that would wow me, or at least make me nod my head in approval. It did neither. Well wait, it did wow me. Wow, this isn’t a very good beer!!! This is WAY too floral, and too sugary sweet for the style, and forget about what style this is supposed to be, the floral, sugary flavor doesn’t appeal to me in general. I think I detect some light roastiness far in the background, but it’s far too submissive to have any impact. There seems to be very little in the way of hops, and this beer is craving a balancing hoppiness to break up the sugary, caramely sweetness. The nose is more malty than the flavor, but still fairly floral and sweet. Amber color. Off-white head pours to average size and maintains a thin layer, but doesn’t leave more than a few wisps of lace on the glass. Jeez, what a disappointment.

Pours little leasting fizzy head. peach colour. Initially quenching and fruity but soon strong carbonation overwhelms and burns, and sugary sweet finish it doesn’t work for me.

Perfectly solid lager offering from Victory. Nicely balanced, easy to drink, a solid, but unspectacular example of the style.

(bottle) My beer club pick of the week. I must agree with the Keg_Juggler (below). This selection is a disappointment from this brewer. I’ve sampled many Octoberfest/Marzen this season and this is sub-par.

Poured into glass. Aroma is moderate. Smells sweet, carmel, and toffee. Hoppy, medium density, little head. Color is amber and clear. perfect balance between hops and malt. Okay oktoberfest, but no Samuel Adams..

Color is amber with a thin and quickly vanishing off white head. Aroma is very light, some caramel, maybe nutty malts, and a little bit of spice. Palate: very easy to drink but maybe a little to watery and carbonated. Flavor is very similar to the aroma, malt and light spice, nothing that leaves much of an impression. Overall this is not a very complex beer. However, is is very easy drinking and pretty cheap, so I’ll probably end up getting it again. (yay! first rating!)
