2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle purchased at Four Firkins in St. Louis Park. Consumed in the incorrect glass but I didn’t feel like dirtying an additional pint glass or stein. Deep amber hue with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is of the traditional Oktoberfest ilk...plenty of malt/cereal maybe some minor roasted notes. This one doesn’t necessarily exhibit strong mouthfeel...almost acts like it doesn’t want to coat the mouth or linger too long. Taste comprised of mostly caramel and maybe roasted toffee. It doesn’t really do anything original when it comes to this style and probably falls short of others I’ve tried. It’s probably the right option if you’re going to a makeshift Oktoberfest celebration that never aspires (or reaches) the real Oktoberfest celebrations you’d find in other parts of the world.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark bronze pour, disappearing head. Nose is medium roasted malt. Little more sweet than bitter. Middle is cherries and solid malt body. Think malt syrup. Finishes slightly dry. Well balanced.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Malty and caramel notes of the fragrance. The taste is also quite malty and almost saturating when drinking it. But it is easier hops flavor too. Good bitterness that fills the upper part but disappears really fast. An easy to drink Oktoberbeer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Copper brown pour with tan head. Roasted caramel malt aroma. Creamy smooth malty mouth feel and flavor. Nice amount of hops bitterness; just to take the edge off the sweet malt flavors. Nice rich Oktoberfest lager.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample at Cincy Beerfest 2014 on Fountain Square. Pours a deep clear orange color with a small off-white head. Notes of caramel, toast, nuts, straw, spice, and dried leaves. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a toasty mouthfeel. Really solid. The flavors and aromas really come through in this one, whereas other marzens can be a bit bland. Best of the style I’ve had in quite some time, probably the best American one. Ignore the Swede two spots before me on this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a nice clear, orange amber with straw-colored head that fades too quick. Aroma is crisp malt with caramel, bread, and brown sugar. Taste is sweet malts, fall leaves, and grain, with mild spices. Classic for the style. Sweet overall. Safe, agreeable, appropriate as fall starts rolling in.

On tap at Global Brew. Pours a clear pale amber with a thin off white head. Mild non-destinct aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt, buttered biscuits along with some nuttiness. Good, true to style.
