3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had it on tap. Good to have Märzens back again. It’s a sweet, malty example. Very tasty, great fall beer.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330 ml bottle in Pompano Beach Fl. Pours a dark amber with a thin beige head. Aroma is an orange, pine malt. Taste is more like a hopped up IPA then a Märzen. That being said it is a good beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Reviewed from notes. Consumed 10/20/2012.
Pours a copper color and leaves the same colored body that yields a soapy half inch white head with a concave clingy lacing riding along the sides of the pint glass. Though the body is extremely clear, no carbonation is seen rising.
The smell has some roasted malt with some super light spice and herbal notes with a bit of hay or rye even lighter and perhaps the faintest of all smells of this beer.
The taste is sweet with a decent dose of caramel presence backed up nicely by some toffee and the roasted malts. Once again, there are some super light spices and herbal notes. That hay/rye thing I guess was only in the smell, no worries.
On the palate, it sits about a medium and is slightly sticky with nothing harsh on the tongue. I would say this is a fairly drinkable beer.
Overall, this is a decent brew that I would probably have again, perhaps not one I’d purposely seek out, but maybe the next time I’d have this, I’d have it on tap.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Victory Festbier has a medium, cream-colored head, a bright, yet hazy, orange/amber appearance, some bubble streams and some lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, syrupy bread crust, medium-roasted malt, and a slight hop zing. Taste is of all of those elements, and there is even a bit of sourness, here. Mouthfeel is medium, and Victory Festbier finishes crisp, refreshing, and absolutely and completely drinkable. Overall, this is really very delicious! RJT

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. It pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a small off white head. The aroma has lots of bread crust, light malty fruitiness and more bread. Hardly any hop character. The flavor is bready and fruity malt with some citric acidity and stronger spicy, floral hops, but still somewhat restrained. This is a pretty nice Oktoberfest, but the citrus notes kind of throw it off for me.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle poured into dimpled mug. Pours a remarkable amber color with a generous tan head. Slightly sweet malty bread aroma with notes of caramel. Nutty and caramel flavors up front with slight hoppy spiciness on the tail end. Very smooth and drinkable, as the style demands. I could see myself drinking a bootfull of this.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I really enjoyed this beer, pours a nice red color with an off white head that sticks around. Smells sweet, hints of fruit and bread. Taste of malts and candied fruits prevail, balanced by some hops so it is not overbearing. Great beer to enjoy

Growler pour over Thanksgiving. One of the better Victory beers I’ve had. A lovely balance of hops and malts with a pleasant nuttiness.
