2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Yellow-golden color with almost no head and a lot of yeast floating around. The smell was tart like lemon and the flavor was a blend of many spices. However, there was a lemon-like pucker to it that was not good.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is a very complex beer. Sweet and spicy flavours finshing with a pleasent hoppy bite. Nice sweet aroma, with a golden color and white head. The only draw back was the head faded fast.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had from bottle on July 13, 2003 - Day 13 of Blake's Beer Month™
Wow. This beer is hard to describe - it's full of flavors, but almost overwhelmingly so. The beer pours with a golden color, nice head and an aroma that is weak, and nothing special. The flavoring of this beer is quite complex - tons of spices, a definite fruity sweetness, very light alcohol flavor. I was really expecting something great here, but was surprised by the odd flavor - it was definitely a different beer, but not something that you could easily drink for days on end. You've got to try it at least once...then you can figure out if you want this odd concoction again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This light tan beer has aromas that are smooth and peppery. A predominantly sweet and malty beer this also has some spiciness on the tongue. Not bad - but not a patch on the trappist tripels.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Someone emptied Mom's Spice rack into Dad's batch of home brew. This was a very spicy and the high alcohol content is noticeable. The first sip was sort of peppery. Overall, it was different, but pretty decent.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2007 Re- Rate January 2007. Golden yellow with a small white head. Sweet yeasty Belgian aroma. Hints at bananas and a grain silo. Sweet flavour has light fruity esters and dry alcohol in the finish. Average to medium palate. Quite pleasant. 6+/3/8/3/15
Re- Rate July 2005. Pale yellow, small white head and decent lacing. Sweet yeasty aroma, very mild lemon. Flavour is lightly alcholic with a touch of lemon and yeast. Average palate, alcohol is hardly noticed. Pleasant, but I remember it having a bit more gravitas and oomph in the flavour. 6/3/6/3/12<P>Original Rating Nov 2000 - Banana like aroma at first? Drank it too quickly to really take note. My impression was of a tripel with shades of a wheat beer...? 6/3/7/3/15

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2003 Aroma is not that great. Taste got better as it opened up and warmed just a bit. I taste cinnimon. My wife tastes vanilla. Masks the alcahol nicely. Really good for the style, but I'm not a huge fan of the style. Re-rate: This one gets better and better everytime I drink it. Very complex. Aroma is still pretty foul though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
An interesting beer, to say the least. I hated the 1st one that I had, but now 2 days later, I'm sitting here drinking my 2nd one and it's growing on me real fast. It has a puzzling fruity flavor, on the bitter side - and you can taste the alcohol in the background. I'm now looking forward to my 3rd...
