4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours yellow golden with a large white head. Smells lightly fruity with some spiciness. Taste is white fruits, hints of cinnamon, coriander, clove, ginger, allspice, cardamom. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Victory Golden Monkey finishes with a lingering spiciness and a touch of alcohol.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear pale gold with a short white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is wheat, yeast, banana, honey, cloves. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium body, moderate to low carbonation, spicy and mildly warming finish. (3/5)
Fairly standard abbey-style tripel, pleasantly crisp and dry. Excellent integration of the ABV, which is apparent only as a mild warming. Good, not great. (14/20)

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home. Sort of as expected- decent but not blown away. Pours a rich deep orange with a white head. Belgian notes are really in your face and somewhat boozy. The added spice puts it a bit over the top- would have preferred more subtle. Ends up overly yeasty, Belgiany, grainy and spicy in the end. Enjoyable, but better examples of style readily available.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
From 355 ml bottle. Pours a lightly hazy gold with a tightly packed white head and lively carbonation. Aromas of baked apple, banana, honey, lemon, cinnamon, pepper and orange. Taste is soft apple, banana and pear at first before a nicely rounded burnt orange and spice bitterness emerges. A melange of citrus, cinnamon, nutmeg, bubblegum and more apple pushes through at the end. Full mouth feel and a lingering spicy aftertaste. Excellent.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Good yes. Great no. Many better triples exist and I'm shocked at how high a score this has. The flavor is flat in comparison to better breweries such as Great Divide or Sierra Nevada. Get a single, or try it when you see it on draft, and keep it moving.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Best by 07/24/17. Pours golden yellow, big white head. Aroma is very traditional Belgian Tripel: clove, lemon peel, banana, esters, traditional Belgian spices. I will say though the esters are more subdued and the citrus and hops are heavier. Flavor is fairly typical, clove, bit of wheat, esters but there are more hops and citrus in this than you would find in most. Slight spice in the finish. Not spicy, but a distinct spice character. Otherwise, not really any different than most tripels but quite good.
