3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. The pour is a nice golden foggy color with a nice white head, some great lace. The aroma is very Belgian. There are some good malts. A little citrus and good light cherry offer a solid undertone. The flavor is a bit worse there is a strong malt but then the Belgian yeast and there isn't a lot of the fruits that smelled. It's just not good. The mouth feel is decent, well carbonated. The aftertaste is quick and dry with a musty yeasty flavor

Impressive brew that starts strong but recedes quickly. Lacking the complexity of its Belgian brothers but a worthy attempt at the style nonetheless.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Victory Golden Monkey has a thin, white head, a mostly clear, somewhat bubbly, golden appearance, with powdery sediment throughout and larger tan chunks evident as well. Lacing is almost non-existent. Mouthfeel is medium and fairly prickly, and Victory Golden Monkey finishes semi-dry and surprisingly drinkable. RJT

About an each head. Not much of hop aroma. Crisp taste in your mouth. Very bitter taste going down. Just ok for me.

12 oz bottle thanks to Wittales. Pours golden with fluffy head. Bright fruity aroma. Taste starts lightly sweet with a short, crisp, dry, minimally bitter finish. Medium body, lively carbonation, slick texture. Overall: this was a pleasure to drink.

Great spiced tripel. As good as any tripel I’ve ever had. The 9.5% ABV is completely hidden. It is deceivingly strong

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is a nice one, and a good deal at $7 per 750 ml bottle at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido. Pours clear, dark gold with a slight white head that quickly fades, no lacing. Has a rich, fruity aroma that is earthy, bready, and has a tinge of honey, just like a classic Belgian Tripel. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter, light sour, with a dry finish. As good as the best tripels coming out of Belgium. Highly recommended.

Full bodied, thick tasting beer...heavily spiced with an herbal aftertaste. Good beer, but not for me

Pale golden colour & sweet smelling. You would be easily fooled into thinking this is a Belgium Tripel, only a little sweetness may make you think it's not (I told my wife, who loves Belgium beer, that it was a Belgium & she didn't know the difference). I cannot taste the spice but the subtle Belgium yeast makes this a deeply delicious beer.
An excellently emulated beer.
