Enchanting and enlightening, this golden, frothy ale boasts an intriguing herbal aroma, warming alcohol esters on the tongue and light, but firm body to finish. Exotic spices add subtle notes to both the aroma and flavor. Strong, sensual and satisfying.

citrusy/wheaty nose, pours with a slightly cloudy golden hue with no head, spicy and yeasty flavour, coriander hints and a dry finish, interesting.

It just wasn't all that. Nice golden color, the head diminished rapidly into almost nothingness. I didn't note complex flavors here. A sort of indistinct Belgian yeastiness, some sweetness, and then the bitter taste of saccharin at the finish. This is dwarfed by Allagash.

Cloudy, light orange color, (looks like orange Easter egg dye) with a white, loosely connected, short-lived head of bubbles. Smell is lead by a bitter hop fragrance, then grapes, yeast, clove, alcohol and underlings of butterscotch sweetness. When I tasted the beer the first thing that came to mind was that this is a perfect combination of the Aventinus and the Allagash White flavors. If you've had those beers that should make sense to you. For those who haven't had them: apple, clove and yeast are up front, followed by hints of banana, coriander, varied spices, and drying from the alcohol. There is a good amount on the palate here, though it isn't a marriage made in heaven and the taste suffers because of it. I can see how this beer would appeal to many because of its complexity and innovativeness, but it fails in the area that counts most to me: taste.

Murky golden color with a soapy off-white head that faded fast but left good lacing. Aromas of banana, bubblegum, candy sugar , clove and pepper. Thick creamy mouthfeel. The taste, less complex than the nose would indicate, is an artful blend of banana and apricot, neither flavor overwhelming the other. There is a hint of pepper in the aftertaste. For a 9.5% ABV beer the alcohol was very well hidden. This beer is less candy sugar sweet than other Belgian style ales I've tried. In my opinion not as good as Victory's Storm King, but close.

Cloudy light gold, big fluffy yet dense off-white head. Complex. Spices, earth, yeast, sourness. A little alcohol on the finish.

Bottle. Yellow-golden color with almost no head and a lot of yeast floating around. The smell was tart like lemon and the flavor was a blend of many spices. However, there was a lemon-like pucker to it that was not good.

This is a very complex beer. Sweet and spicy flavours finshing with a pleasent hoppy bite. Nice sweet aroma, with a golden color and white head. The only draw back was the head faded fast.

Wow. This beer is hard to describe - it's full of flavors, but almost overwhelmingly so. The beer pours with a golden color, nice head and an aroma that is weak, and nothing special. The flavoring of this beer is quite complex - tons of spices, a definite fruity sweetness, very light alcohol flavor. I was really expecting something great here, but was surprised by the odd flavor - it was definitely a different beer, but not something that you could easily drink for days on end. You've got to try it at least once...then you can figure out if you want this odd concoction again.

This light tan beer has aromas that are smooth and peppery. A predominantly sweet and malty beer this also has some spiciness on the tongue. Not bad - but not a patch on the trappist tripels.
