Not one of my favorite Victory beers. Very sweet at the beginning - bannana, candy, nutmeg etc. Finishes sweet and hoppy with a definitive alcohol taste.

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2004 Whoa !
Initial sweet candy banana nutmeg clovey notes happening here with blatant alcohol presence that will leave you with the spins if you drink one too many !
Good thing this beer isn't available in 7-11's because oh what chaos it would cause !
I have had Allagash and I know a lot of ppl consider it superior to G.M. but I tell you they're almost indistinguishable.
This is something that ought be had with food to ease the alcohol from slamming your noggin too quickly ...
Great great American made beer !

12 oz. bottle. Tight white head. Hazy, gold color. Fruity , yeasty nose. Medium body. Medium sweet, fruity, appley, notes of cinnamon and a nice blend of other spices. Somewhat mead like? Much tastier than i remember. 9.5% alc. is well masked. Finish is medium sweet, clean.

Golden yellow in color, eggshell head. Alcohol yeast aroma. An excellent beer packing a lot of alcohol. Spicy and sweet....a bit too much candy sugar taste though....very bold and tastey.

Bottle. A very interesting beer! Golden, nice head. Average aroma...maybe half average golden ale, half Chimay White. Very sweet, effervescent and sparkling mouthfeel, typical Belgian triple flavor with a nice finish. Spicy. Very nice and interesting beer.

I find it difficult to rate a Victory brew so low, but I'm just not a fan of the Belgian-styled brews. I can tell that this is a fine ale for those who enjoy the style, though. Just a bit too far on the sweet side for my palate.

This one hits you and it hits you hard! Not for the faint hearted it is a bottle conditioned tripel.Lovely golden appearance, spicey and powerful it cries out to be drunk, preferably slowly so as you can appreciate its complexity. Strong but not overpowering it has subtle flavours that make it a highly recommended beer.

For the initial glass, 9/10 of this beer was head. The 1/10 was of an appealing orange color though. Orange citric, tingly yeast smacks the nose intermingled with an artificial smelling lemon-pine freshener twinge. Rather citric/acidic flavor with clouds of yeast and grass snippets as if thrown my a lawn mower. Sour alcoholic finish does not help.

Nice, smooth, slightly spicy. Very well balanced, world class beer. Very easy drinking for a higher alcohol beer.

This is an embarrassing attempt at a Belgian Tripel, laughable. Sweet, sweet bready malts, really sticky, toilet cleaner flavours, one dimentional and boring, i liked the yeast character though, but thats the only positive. The yeast tastes Belgian, but the rest of the beer doesn't, seems a bit out of place to me.
