3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Clear gold pour, small white head. Nice spiced aroma, with a fair amount of yeast and a touch of funk. Some citrus, and some spice. Complex, and good. Flavors were similar, but maybe a little less pronounced. Some bready characters. Medium bodied, not big, but I didn’t think it was too thin. I thought this was a good triple.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
@bartlebier’s 1st episode of the bierhandlung’s tasting series; an extra two points for the choice of spices - galgant and turmeric - as they subtly highlight the tripel yeasts yellow aromas of light honey, almonds, marzipan, yellow stone fruits, muscat grapes. At 9,5 abv no alcohol heat. Well done.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottles (bb..) at Biere mit Stil 1: Worldwide Tripel Tasting@Bierhandlung Freiburg JAN2016. - Darker beige-yellow pour. Reticent in the nose: odd dry spices, wet cereals, no abv whatsoever - but nothing luring me in either. - Has a dustiness in flavour like dried curry powder and dune sand - must be that galgant root and/or turmeric, cardamom? Flavour is minimal for a beer this big on ABV: some banana and old pineapple slices, drying hedgerow hop bitters with a whiff of citrus. Not getting much spicy phenols to turn of the spice heat or fruity esters to throw in some apple, pear of mango in the dish...while it is not an unpleasant sipper. - Had this twice since roughly 2012 and so far it has failed to really connect - yet for a tripel, this beer really tastes a bit dead inside: no real yeast character, mostly old spice.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear yellow color with little lacing. Head stays a while. Smells and tastes like bananas and booze. A decent beer, but weird for me.
