Enchanting and enlightening, this golden, frothy ale boasts an intriguing herbal aroma, warming alcohol esters on the tongue and light, but firm body to finish. Exotic spices add subtle notes to both the aroma and flavor. Strong, sensual and satisfying.

16 oz pour on draft at National Pastime in National Harbor. Clear straw yellow with off-white head. Aromas of banana, yeast, herbs, lemon citrus. Tastes of banana, yeast, herbs, spice, wheat, lemon citrus. Medium-light body with a dry finish. ABV is superbly hidden and doesn’t drink like a 9.5% beer.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thin white head. Low carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of honey, straw and star anise. Flavour is very sweet - verging on Barley Wine territory. Notes of honey, spices and a peppery finish. Flavour of salted orange. Medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Lively fizz. A nice beer, but a bit too sweet for me.

Draft from Half Wall. Pours a hazy gold with a thin head and minimal lacing. Aromas are spice & herb, with a very similar taste. Some booze on the finish; nice and full bodied, pretty oily. Acquire. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, banana and spices. Clean subtle flavors highlighting the yeast, and spices. Finishes dry, warming with a lingering sweetness. This is one of my favorite American tripels and a beer that I come back to again and again.

Did not like this at all. Weird combination of spices produces a strange bubblegum taste.

Bottle. Pale gold with a thick fluffy white head. Nose is light citrus, sweet lemon, and lots of herby notes. Taste is zingy, with lemons and grapefruit opening up to vegetables, herbs, light spice. Really tasty. Not overpowering, but powerful!

Bottle from Sake Taniguchi (World Beer Market). Belgian yeast nose, deep fruit, malt, coriander, light perfume, and some fumes. Clear bright gold straw color, thin head, some lace. Strong fruity initial, with dried apricots and banana chips. Sugary. Light sweet finish. Thin-medium, a bit sticky. Very tasty, with the thick fruit, but not really overdone. Warming, but hides the alcohol more or less.

From 750ml bottle

Aroma: Lots of spice, some orange and fruit

Apearance: Golden hazy, white head

Taste: Alcohol, spice, citrus or corriander, light sweet

Palate: light body, average carbonation, long bitter finish

Overall: A bit too much spice in my Tripel. Not bad, but the strong alcohol/warmness and spices makes a decent tripel. Nothing wrong with it, but would prefer a little less spice and a little more mellow booze/alcohol.

Excellent. Aroma is spicy with hints of banana sweetness. Taste is banana, sweetness, faint dough and yeast like esters. Finish is sweet and refreshing with just a hint of the booze. Overall, it’s pretty darn good.

Not bad. Tastes better when closer to room temp than very cold. Like It wish it wasn't so strong ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
