ThaBobfather (130), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 11, 2008 I bought this beer for sitting on my porch and enjoying. It is enjoyable, if I’m only having one. It smelled like many spice laden tripels of it’s style and poured a nice golden color. THe spice was too overpowering and I could only drink all of one. After starting the second one, I wanted to puke. But I would recomend this for tastings and other similair events because it is a very intriguing beer.
bag (83), Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 From bottle… poured extremely pale with pillowy white head that held on for a couple Aroma just wasn’t there – a hint of alcohol, but not much else. Flavor was spicy but with an undesirablely slimy aftertaste. Finished very warm in my tummy. Not my thing/style. dborg (1), , Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jul 25, 2008 First review. Long time fan of this and had the good fortune to drink out of the final holding tank on a Victory tour.
From a 12 oz bottle dated Apr 2011 (i.e. about 3 months post-bottling)
Aroma is very pleasant and spicy. Some head. Can easily taste esters, spices, some citrus but thankfully not overpowering.
Just enjoyed one as I know two or three would put me out for the night! Swolf3 (13), Elkton, Maryland, USA Jul 22, 2008 Poured an amber orange color without a lot of head. Aroma was citrus and hops. Taste was a nice mixture between hops and fruits. anders37 (2506), Malmö, Sweden Jul 20, 2008 Draught @ Collins Pub, Seattle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small white head.
