COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sensual splendor in the form of a Belgian inspired ale of vast appeal. Wonderfully aromatic in its seduction of the senses. So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature’s most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you.

Amber colored with a big white head. Heavy candy sugar aroma. Flavor is quite dry and sweet. Good, not great Belgian style.

Pours a hazy orange with a ivory head. Aroma is filled with citrus and spice, good maltiness, and some nice finishing hops. Taste starts fruity and sweet and ends with a slightly acidic bitterness. Good fruity tastes run through this beer with some caramel and good spice towards the end. Well balanced and it has a nice carbonation.

(750ml Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy orangish-brown with a small white head. Caramel and malt aroma with some spices. Flavors of hops, sweet caramel, and some fruitiness. Thanks for sharing Patrick!

My first reaction was that this was a sort of Belgian winter ale, but I began to pull back from that assessment. Bready, yeasty, but moderate and restrained flavors--though I was never quite sure what those were. Limping through the palate after the fizz burns off. I’m definitely not over-enthusiastic about this.

Kind of surprised to see such love for this one. Pours an orange-ish brown brew with a pretty thick head. Slight spiciness in the nose with more of a malty floral hop presence. Medium bodied but my problem is with the flavor. Mild would be one way to describe it. Nothing is really jumping out. Not in a dominant way, just no assertiveness. Okay brew but nothing to go out of your way for.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2011 I wish this was not a retired beer. I would really like to have one again. +++Sampled from a 750 ml bottle this beer poured an opaque orange-gold color with a large orange head. There was a very sweet aroma of fruit and hops. The flavor was sweet, malty, fruity and had a strong hop presence. The hops really come through on the aftertaste, especially as the beer warms up. There was a noticeable alcohol burn, but not overwhelming for a beer with 9%. Very nice.

A tasty ale. I drank this after the Golden Monkey and I have to say that I did not prefer this beer to the GM. Still very good, and I should like to try it again by itself before I give a final rating. Worth trying, for sure.

Poured a medium amber. This beer did not live up to my expectations -- it is "simple" as the commercial description states -- a one-dimensional beer with only a floral finish worth noting.
