COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The pure water we receive from the East Branch of the Brandywine Creek that begins its journey to us just under 14 miles from where we brew with it. We’ll be celebrating this water (insert your lite beer joke here) with our anniversary beer, Headwaters Pale Ale, due to be released February 15, 2011. Now, considering that beer is the product of four simple ingredients and the three other than water rely on water for their existence, we’ve had a fair amount of latitude in paying homage to water in our beer. So, we’ve played all of our cards deftly, bringing the hops, malt and yeast in harmony, with our great local water as the conductor in Headwaters Pale Ale.

330ml bottle from Brewdog shop. Small bubbly white head, some lacing. Clear amber body. Not much on the nose, grass, a little citrus. Flavour is grass, caramel, a hint of berries. Bitter finish. Light carbonation, decent mouthfeel. Not blown away by this one.

Mastelefish (81) - North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 18, 2014
Pours a lighter copper with a thin white head. Aroma is strong upfront, consisting of strong, grassy notes. Body is light with a bitterness to match. Finishes quickly leaving not much on the tongue. A refreshing pallette cleanser. Would drink again.

ContemplateBeer (1507) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 13, 2014
Aroma: Pungent grassy nose with some underlying citrus character, malts tend toward semi-sweet cereal, something here almost reminds me of cheesecloth. Appearance: Pale copper, clear pour with a foamy white head that settles into a patchy, bubbly skin. Flavor: Malts come out a bit more than expected, more orange citrus than grass, though the grass still persists in the background. A bit more bitter and a touch lemony toward the finish. Palate: Light-medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: A well made pale ale, though not my favorite from their lineup.

Garrold (1135) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2014
Bottle from Bottledog, Kings Cross. Clear, dark gold. Film of white head. Sweet biscuit. Lemon pith. A bit grassy. Taste is crunchy dry and bitter. Decent body. Bitter finish, with a little lime tartness.

Fatehunter (1179) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JUN 9, 2014
Pours a thin head on a hazy medium straw colored body. The aroma is mild fruit: apricot and some grapefruit. The taste has a solid moderate bitterness throughout with some balancing malt in the middle to end. It finishes with a little sweet note. The texture is crisp with a good fizz. It’s enjoyable and on the more bitter side.

Bottle pour. Clear amber color with little head but good carbonation. Hoppy aroma. Smooth palate. Bitter initial taste with a dry peppery aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice malty/floral aroma, with a cloudy amber color, very little head, smooth light flavor without a bitter hop aftertaste of some pale ales, however a little lighter than preferred. Definitely a summer afternoon beer.
